Anyone who thinks water moccasins/cotton mouths aren't aggressive has never had one try to get in the boat with you when you're fishing. Those things are sumbitch mean.

Kill 'em with fire. All of them.

I cant tell you how many moccasins I've killed by either shovel, .38 special, 357 mag (that was awesome), .40 S&W, or 00 12 gauge buckshot.

You'd need a bonfire for that beast. I hate snakes. And spiders. Ugh.

Snakes and spiders are my two fears. Nothing else scares me more and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Oh, I have other fears. But those are up there. I have a simple rule: if it naturally has more than 4 legs, or less than 2, I don't want it anywhere near me. Ever.

if no weapons are allowed, a 20 pound rock would suffice.

Yep, I grew up on a farm that had a pond and a river running across it. Almost all of the time, the snakes we crossed were down by the river. There was a copperhead however that was living up against our storm shelter for a summer. I went to step off it one time when we were playing on top of it and he was sitting right there on the ground. You would occasionally see him sunning on top of it. I can't remember why but for some reason we never killed it that summer.

I've been a surveyor for over 20 yrs I can't count the number of cotton mouths and copperheads my trusty machete has relieved of their heads. There was one swamp/beaver pond area along side of some prison land in Sugar Land where we killed 30 or 40 a day when in there.

The snake in the OP is a harmless water snake. Nerodia sipedon.

Anyone that said copperhead or hognose is an idiot. This is a copperhead I photographed in north georgia.

This is the same harmless species as in the OP:

Learn the difference. I always tell people a copperhead looks like it has Hershey's kisses on its side.

Killing snakes is for wimps and sister f'ing hicktards. I'll give people a pass for killing a venomous snake on their property if they don't have the knowledge and skills to move it a short distance away. People who kill snakes far from houses in the woods or on roads are pansies, not true outdoorsmen, have small penises, etc.

Here are some snakes I've found and photographed:

Timber rattler

Mating eastern diamondbacks

Prairie rattlesnake

Desert massasauga rattlesnake

Pigmy rattlesnake

Cottonmouth

Massive eastern diamondback

I'm heading to a good timber rattler spot near Athens in about an hour. I will post pics or a video tonight if I see one.

Do you work with them, or is it just a hobby?

We just use them in Church. They only bite the wicked and unrepentant people.
