It would pay for itself if you forfeited the benefit with a + test.

Now do I think a kid who tests + for pot should be booted with the quickness, no. But a repeat offender or a more serious drug, maybe.
You need to do some research. It's not cost effective.

No, public schools should not administer drug tests. They're practically raising kids now. If anything, we should back off public schools' responsibilities to education only.

If the school is patrolled by gun-wielding cops the school should drug test the cops.

I think they did (but don't know if they still do) randomly test students involved in extracurricular activities (All Sports, Band, Cheer etc.) here in Arkansas.

I don't think it's needed, but if they are going to do it, they need to randomly test the Administrators, Coaches etc. as well.

My HS administered "random" drug tests but it always seemed like the known druggies were the ones getting picked.

I think anything that requires receiving a benefit from the government, should require drug testing.
Whether that benefit is education, food stamps, welfare, or whatever.

Don't forget to include the benefits from public roads, police, fire protection, and military. The people who benefit from those should be drug tested as well.
