This story is either complete bullshite, or you hit it at one time and her fiancée doesn't want you there.

I'm calling bullshite on your story.

If it was true, there is a McDonald's commercial waiting for you. They love the smart Black rescues stupid White theme.

People in New Jersey aren't used to black people? That sounds crazy.

Actually it makes perfect sense. Jersey guido's can be the worst. Did the dude ever call you an eggplant? If so, be glad you are not going to the wedding, she did you a favor.

If this is true then that's pretty shitty of her. My only guess is some of her family are racist and they'd give her shite for having a black friend, but if she was a true friend she would still invite you and stick up for you if they did that.

Yeah she may actually be protecting you from some sure enough redneck types in her family and telling you she'd be "uncomfortable" if you were there.

If this is real, she is not your friend.

Simple as that.

Move out of the south, find some people who don't give a shite what your skin color is.

You'll always be "a black guy" down there.

You didn't answer the question.

And it doesn't matter how long ago you hit it, hubby won't want you at the wedding, or any other dude that hit it regardless of color

So did you EVER hit it?

I just want to make sure I get all this, assuming it's true. This BFF, who you did a lot of valuable work for, for FREE, and who you talk with daily, has invited you to her wedding. You have an invitation. But she's asked that you not respond to this invitation, saying she would be uncomfortable if you attended because you'd be the only black person there. Is this correct?

OK, it's totally shitty to send someone an invitation, then tell them they're uninvited. Trashy and low-class doesn't begin to describe that behavior. IF you've never slept with her, there is absolutely no worthy reason for this. And, if I were in that situation, I can't see inviting someone to my wedding that I'd slept with, unless my husband was completely cool with it. But the time to have that discussion is BEFORE the invitations are sent, like when you're making the invitation list. Uninviting someone is beyond tacky.

I would email her, and acknowledge that you won't be attending, at her request. Then tell her that since she is uncomfortable with your presence on such a special occasion, she should consider your website work as a wedding present and your friendship over because you're uncomfortable with rude, low-class people. Wish her well and tell her never to contact you again. She doesn't deserve you. Assuming all this is true and you've shared all pertinent details.

I can't imagine not wanting my close friends with me on my wedding day, regardless of race, religion, or any other issue. If they are my friends, they're friends regardless.

no. honest to god if she came out of my bathroom butt naked and told me to take her, i'd tell her to put her clothes on. my friendship with her was not worth it. we're, i thought, were pretty close.

Because then we'd sex, and she's not leaving her fiancee and we'd make a horrible couple, we both work too much, we both are high strung, then we'd break up and then i wouldn't have my friend anymore.

I mean it's okay to call me crying becuase your "friend" at the gym said some mean shite about you or call me when your fiancee beats the shite out of you for trying to shave the hair off his back or pop up over my house on a Friday night to fix your computer or give your dad's best friend a super sweet rate on a new website or bitch about how your boss is abusing you and to help you with your website stuff and to just do be there for you but you can't invite me to your wedding. that's some cold blooded shite.

And I mean she does some shite for me too. i have a temper in real life and when shite gets bad with clients she will step in and calm them or me down lol. she's probably referred.. 10 thousand dollars in revenue to me in the last year, she listens to me bitch when i have bad days.

I'm just tired of being the friend in the dark

: kige : to most all of this except the part in bold

As a southern person, being the gracious one, and not the catty one, will irritate them much more in the long run and you come up smelling like roses. It is the win - win strategy. Winning and keeping cool in the process is delicious in the long run. As a bonus, when you are cool, her friends will call you later for a late night encounter or two.

Most women are like cats, ignore them and they want you more. Give them just enough to keep them coming back then do your own thing the rest of the time. I am fine with friends with benefits but being the best friend with no benefits should have ended around high school. I am certainly not a hot looking person but I have always had women around me.
