Conduct Disorder and Anti-social Disorder are catch-all terms. They are not diagnoses.

Not true at all. They have reciprocal agreements with several states and according to the SLED website, Arkansas is one of those states.

I'm not familiar with the case but I googled it and this is a sketch of the suspect. The one on the right is time enhanced.
Could be him.
This is the mugshot from Kohlhepp's arrest.

You should know that there is almost universal opposition to DSM-5 in the psychiatric field. Here is an article for your enlightenment.
Please try harder.
quote:
Strikingly, there seems to be virtually no support for DSM-5 outside the very narrow circle of the several hundred experts who have created it and within the leadership of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), which stands to reap large profits from its publication. There is no group and precious few individuals outside of APA who have anything good to say about DSM-5. And even within the DSM-5 Work Groups and the APA governance structures, there is widespread discontent with the sloppy process and considerable disagreement about the highly controversial product.
Please try harder.

I know the issues of DSM-V since I work in the mental health field.
You need to try harder.
Anyone that works in Mental Health knows there is no such thing as a psychopath and yet you have used that term. You then called a distinct diagnosis a catch all. Just stop while you are somewhat ahead.
I could go and diagnose this guy with Disruptive Mood Disorder and be correct. That is the new catch all.

Please tell us more about your wife. I have been fascinated by this subject and spent all last night reading stories about people who knew psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists, etc on Reddit
For anyone interested I just googled "psychopaths Reddit" and there were tons of links. Wild stuff.

You're posting on a sports board. Dial it back a bit.
Psychopathy is a field of study and the common term "psychopath" is routinely used. You seem to favor theory over application regarding this research. There is presently a strong disconnect between the two. As I see it, the theorists who constructed DSM-5 will have to modify it or risk alienating those who might use it.
As Psychiatric Times puts it:
"If DSM-5 remains at war with its users, it won't be used. Why buy an expensive book if it is likely to be more harmful than helpful and when the official ICD-10-CM codes will be freely available on the internet? DSM-5's stubborn refusal to abandon risky suggestions is a foolish gamble not only for clinicians and patients, but also with its own future."
I couldn't agree more.

Well, the correct term is ex-wife. I view her as a classic sociopath, with apologies to SMS151t and other theorists who use more uncommon terms, because of her relentless need for control. She's not a psychopath, I think, since she can seem to turn empathy off and on as needed. Mostly, though, it's off. Psychopaths have no capacity for empathy and never will because of their brain physiology.
A Jew, "Judy" and I have two sons. She is presently in Israel working for the IDF. This turned out to be the perfect career for someone with her personality. We are friendly and I know she loves the boys, at least as much as she is capable of that feeling.
While the development and maintenance of a relationship with a sociopath is very difficult, it can be done if the partner understands and accepts that he or she must be the subordinate. A sociopath will always be dominant and manipulative. They simply don't know how to do it any other way. I couldn't accept that necessary arrangement.

Living with all 3 of these individuals was pretty taxing.
I'm sure it was. The most annoying trait of people who lack a conscience is the amount of drama they generate in their own and others' lives. Anger is a common emotion for them because it's better than no emotion from their point of view.
Boredom seems to be their natural enemy. Manipulation of others is more than just a way to get what they want. I think it's actually entertainment for them, too.

My dad had a terrible head injury my senior year in HS, and I am of the belief that resulted in a form of ADSM.
My step family are just manipulative people. You're spot on aboit it being for entertainment too.

This accurately describes several women from my past.
If there is a certifiable crazy woman within 50 miles they seem to have an inner radar with me on it.
This description also accurately describes my ex brother in law.

"I attract psychos" is more than just a saying. People who are born without consciences, "psychopaths" in the common lingo, actively seek out those of us who they consider to be easy marks.
People with consciences find it difficult to hurt other people. Psychopaths don't. In fact, they marvel at how easy it is to take advantage of certain people and are in wonderment as to why everyone isn't like them.

Weirdest part is the guy doesn't even have crazy eyes. Just one of those sociopaths with no sense of right or wrong.
Thank god they finally stopped him.
