Owl screeching

when you are alone, coyotes howling will send chills down your spine. Especially if you're 13 and its your first time being in a tree alone. I miscalculated and stayed up the tree too long, I couldn't get out of the damn woods fast enough

Panther while hunting my granny's farm in Whigham GA. First time I ever heard one and I thought my heart had stopped. Not close though - probably on the adjoining farmer's land or so I would guess.

A hog charging at me when it was pitch black outside. I was leaving the deer stand and heading back to the house. I'm glad I had a sidearm with me

Cold camping on an elk hunt... No fire in individual tents. A big bear came through around 4am and was sniffing my tent. LOUD sniffs. Pitch dark at the top of the treeline above Crested Butte. That was some scary shite. No pistol.. Just my .300 Weatherby... Unloaded... in a small tent.

Yep. Coyotes. I took my nephews camping in the woods in Pembroke GA one night and had my dog with me. We heard them howling around 8 pm when it was getting completely dark. I let the fire die out and finished my drink while my nephews (4 and 7) slept in the tent. I laid down and probably around 2 AM I woke up to my dog growling from inside the tent at the door of the tent. I was like SHUT THE frick UP STELLA. I did have my glock with me fully loaded, but that was a dark silence that sent chills up my spine.

The woods can be creepy when you think you're alone.

Just had one screaming that fricking call of theirs in the thicket not 30 yards from my house a few nights ago It's creepy sounding as shite. Went out on my front porch at midnight to find all my neighbors wondering if a child was being tortured in the woods.
