Time and removing myself from the stressful situation and circumstances that triggered the overwhelming anxiety, guilt, stress and subsequent deep depression eventually helped me slowly get out of the pit of despair. Thing have been MUCH better the last several years but I never have really gotten over the experience which basically robbed me of several prime years of my life. I'm trying to make up for lost time now.

The problem though is that after a traumatic experience like that you tend to avoid taking chances in life that could be life changing in a great way due to fears that any setbacks might send you into downward spiral. You do what so many people with dysthymia do and as a coping mechanism you merely exist and never take a chance in life. In short, life passes you by when you are capable of so much more. Such a crappy, uninspiring way to live.

I'm doing much better controlling my anxiety. I just wish I had more energy and ambition. Depression tends to kill your confidence and ambition which I think is one of the worst aspects of the condition. It's such an irrational and terrible misuse of your mental and physical energy.

Funny, when I heard this news, I thought about Jim Carey. Williams and Carey have that same mad, frantic style, like their hair is on fire. I always have thought Carey is legitimately crazy though. If someone told me Carey committed suicide, I would not have been surprised at all. Williams, i was surprised about.

Carey creeps me out for some reason. I really dont like watching him.

Jim Carey got to sleep with this chick for a very long time. He can never use the "depression" excuse again.

Am I the only one wondering if he was jerking off when this happened?

I can believe whatever I want to. See "World's Greatest Dad."

Dude, relax. It's a joke about Carlos Mencia, not Robin Williams. I hated hearing the news as much as anybody.

Your sense of humor is appreciated. And also your ability to discern that the joke was not about Robin Williams.

So he might have indeed died jerking off? I would feel better about that than suicide.

He basically died by hanging. He was in a seated position slightly suspended in air. Also had superficial cuts on his wrists by a small pocket knife they found by his body.

FWIW, it's not uncommon for someone who has committed suicide by hanging to hang themselves from a doorhandle.
