quote:

Richard Sherman doesn't believe that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell would stand up to an owner the way his NBA counterpart, Adam Silver, did when he banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life for making racist comments.

quote:

"Because we have an NFL team called the Redskins, I don't think the NFL really is as concerned as they show. The NFL is more of a bottom-line league. If it doesn't affect their bottom line, they're not as concerned. ” -- Richard Sherman, on the NFL's stance on racism

This is a hypothetical. Why even make this statement?

He has made this clear for sure.

He has a degree from Stanford, though. He's not stupid, so why does he continue to put himself in these types of situations? Publicity?

Yes, and it just goes to show you that Stanford doesn't require football players to attend college level classes like a lot of other schools.

But but but that's not what they said after the NFC Championship game.

Sherman is a gentleman and a scholar.

Say what you want about Sherman, but he's very intelligent. He graduated second in his HS class and scored a 2300 on his SAT. His major at Stanford wasnt some bullshite blowoff major either.

He should really just enjoy his limelight and money silently.

Sherman is also a master troll, largely because his IQ is usually about 30 points higher than the average NFL player being trolled.

Because Richard Sherman wasn't in the news this week. Gotta say something to get back in that limelight baby.

And I'm convinced Goodell probably would've done worse. Illegally. And dropped the mic afterward.

I love Richard Sherman, and he's probably not far off base with what he said. Maybe he said it just to get people thinking/a conversation going. It's possible to throw ideas out there without being an attention whore.

Gets people talking about Richard Sherman as the draft approaches. The guy isn't dumb, he knows just how to stir the pot to get a reaction. The NFL's best troll.

It's not like he doesn't have a point either.

Maybe because he was asked his opinion on it? Did you even read the article you linked?

quote:

Asked in an interview with Time Magazine whether he thought Goodell would take the same stance as Silver, who has been widely praised for his decision to rid the NBA of Sterling, Sherman said, "No, I don't."
