I'm a member places that put up model runs. I'm basing my info on those, which aren't perfect but give you a good idea of the dynamics at play.

Trust the NWS for the best information. Go to weather.Gov and search for your town for the best infotmation.

Where are you guys getting most of this info from? The 3 main websites (weather.com, acuweather, underground) for my area all have vastly different projections. ranging from 4 inches of snow to absolutely nothing, not even rain.

For here, we have some local guys with WDRB (Fox) who are pretty good and don't really buy into the snow hype. So when they say shite could get real, it probably is going to get real.

Most of our local folks Tweet out info from their conference calls with the National Weather Service.

I'm dreading our current scenario. Because we're only going to get the first few inches overnight and it's supposed to snow throughout the day tomorrow we may end up having school but having an early dismissal.

Those things are clusterfricks. Especially when you're in an area where no one wants to pick up their kids.

One of my coworkers interned at NWS when she was at OU (I want to say through the Salt Lake office maybe?). She does a pretty good job of keeping everybody updated.

And this is apparently the 12Z NAM (sp?) for my area for tomorrow.

NWS states snow rates of "up to 2"" per hour for this storm late Monday morning through the afternoon.

Crazy. They're saying in the Louisville area along the river that we're probably going to have 6-10".

@MarcWeinbergWX: NWS calling this the biggest snow storm for our area "in 10 years"

I think the last biggest one we had in the last decade here was about 6" with an inch of ice to go with in '09. So we're getting at least 6+ inches.

UK's basketball team is headed to Knoxville tonight instead of tomorrow apparently too.

The NAM is pretty good in the very short term. Like 18 hours out. Try and find the high resolution version. it breaks the atmosphere down in like a couple of km blocks.

The latest Euro run looks to cover Kentucky and toward the DC area. A very tight snow gradient exists to the south. Looking like a minor snow for Nashville and near nothing for Huntsville. It is just one model, so this isn't set in stone. I would say based on it though, Arkansas may bust. Kentucky is looking like it could be a serious snow across the state

Yeah, the NWS basically told schools they need to cancel and are dropping comments like "historical".

It looks "historical" could be accurate.

Arkansas I think could bust or could deliver. Kentucky I'm pretty sure is going to get blasted. Arky folks need to really watch their weather info.
