What's a second-tier city?
You know. Cincinnati, Des Moines, Indianapolis, Boise, etc.
I'd probably put Memphis in there too.
Regional cities instead of national cities.

Night life: Dallas
I would be surprised if this was true. The nightlife in Dallas is good but it's similar to Houston and what I imagine Atlanta is like
I would rank Austin above Houston and Dallas for nightlife and I'm sure cities like Charleston and Savannah are up there. NOLA is up there too

Big city rankings are easier:
This is just from my experience having traveled all over the place.
#1 ATL
#2 Nash
#3 Charleston
#4 NoLa
#5 Memphis
#6 Bham
There are some good small towns or pretty scenery but overall this is my vacation list. I'd probably live in Bham or Atl as I am familiar with them.

I thought you texas said that "Texas wasn't southern, Texas is Texas". So how do these cities count? I always felt that Dallas was Big XII country anyway, what with the high % of Texas/OU/TCU/ fans there. Along with the fact that the Red River Shootout is played there.

SEC Country does not equal southern states.

He said SEC, not southern.

Well do you feel like Dallas is truly in "SEC country"?

Yes. Tons of A&M alumni, large numbers of Arkansas alums, plenty of LA transplants as well. I could see discounting Austin and SA though since it's really just A&M alums there from the SEC.
I would say Houston probably is the most "SEC" out of the big Texas cities in terms of alums
