so why make the post? of course there are idiots out there... there are racist. But there are on both sides. I have plenty of black friends myself, but have seen racism towards me before also. Its never going to end, some people are just that way. No you may not be a "thug" or a "gangbanger" but some white people just have that perception. And no i may not be a "klan member" or a "rich white man" that hates blacks... but some people may have that perception. That wont change, but everyone isnt that way. And a broad post that makes it seem like all white people are racist wont help things

You are a minority of a minority.

Question for you, help me understand the mindset that it's ok to listen to music that says n***a ten times In a song and it's cool, but one dumb redneck yells it and they are ready to throw a way free college education?

Like I said earlier, they're running with stereotypes.

No they really aren't. Sorry but most people just don't care anymore. That's what happens when all people do is bitch. Especially when 99% of the time it's completely unfounded.

It's too bad that the 1% of true racism gets lumped in with people's apathy towards racism these days but minorities really only have themselves to blame for that.

Stereotypes exist for a reason bro. Last Friday around midnight, for the first time in 34 years of my life I almost got robbed. I won't comment any further but it totally changed my view on certain demographics. In the past I absolutely despised George Zimmerman and his supporters but I understand him now.

Why would you let one incident shape your view on a whole race? I grew up in upstate South Carolina, if I allowed all the things said and done to me to penetrate, then I would hate white people by now.

racism will end whenever everyone is multiracial. But then you'll have regional bias and stereotype.

Who cares. Live and let live.

I am sick of being portrayed as some gun wielding, ebonics speaking, idiot just so it can fit the narrative of people who just will never truly like us.

Unfortunately, its the idiots you refer to that make the evening news.

I do think racism will always exist in the minds of the uneducated. However, the good news I see in my own grandchildren is that largely they dont even see color. I had lunch with both of them the other day at their school and both classes had a complete mix of ethnicities. So in 30-50 years, I think things will be better, just like things now are better than 50 years ago.

OP, I think that the problem people have with African American leadership is how they try to make every problem a race problem. This obscures more important issues because once the race card has been played, it overshadows all other discussion. From the outside looking in, it seems that certain people who are in a position of power because of leading roles they took during the Civil Rights movement feel that they need to kept beating the racism drum or they will become irrelevant, and so they react to everything like its 1965 Birmingham and people's right to vote is being threatened, not 2015 with a second-term black president in office. Calling for a university president to resign because some students were called mean words on the way to class is ridiculous, and further calling for him to publicly acknowledge his "white privilege" is clear race-baiting.

There are legitimate social problems connected to some of these issues, such as poverty begetting poverty and lack of low-education employment that would help people in those circumstances improve their lot and take a step towards social mobility, which are not racial problems. Trying to turn them into racial problems prevents rational discussion of them, and is itself racist. Don't you find the conflation of the terms "poor" and "black" insulting? It is African American leadership that continues to push the viewpoint that one implies the other, for their own self-serving benefit.

Playing a race card every fricking breath leads to stereotyping.

No I am not in the minority. You have been conditioned to see it that way. It truly makes me laugh to hear non blacks talk about blacks with no clue. My neighborhood in Greenville SC is predominantly black, seriously 9/10 ratio, but it is a very nice and well kept neighborhood. Down the street is a ran down, nasty trailor park that is predominantly white. Neither would fit your stereotype.

And the N word, although I don't use it,it's simple.. we can say it, you cant. It's no different than Gay men calling themselves f%* or women calling themselves bitches

Obviously grammar isn't my strength, although I did not proof read, let's try to discuss the topic and be mature here.

I seen one person talk about how black people should be happy because they get a free education. Wrong. I can assure you with the amount of student loan debt that I have that you are incorrect

Guess what, a-hole?

Everybody else has student debt as well. The fact you are Black does not entitle you to everything being on someone else's dime.
