People in Houston are freaking out about low 40s next week.

We've been missed twice this year by major storms. The one in Chicago that dumped a foot or better hit north and now this one is riding south.

Bastards.

Yeah, I'm in the midlands of SC and they're calling for snow/ice/freezing rain beginning early Tuesday and thru Thursday. It was a year ago we got obliterated by an assload of ice that knocked the power out for a week and a half.

Better go stock up on bread and milk, etc before the official freak out begins.

And Mother Nature... !!!

I'm about 20 minutes from Augusta so if you live near there, you better have a lot of wood.

That sounded kinda pervish. Fire wood...not the other kind of wood.

Columbia, which means we'll probably just get really cold rain.

I'm about 45 minutes from Cola so I imagine y'all get hit pretty good, too.

Could've sworn I heard somewhere that the Yardcocks postponed a game in anticipation of this. Maybe I'm hallucinating. Three days with no sleep tends to cause that.

Sorry for laughing but....hahahahaha That is nothing.

It is so funny to watch Southerners freak out over snow and ice.

Just good ol' Insomnia. The sandman and I don't get along so well. Can't take Ambien bc then I do shite like wake up in the morning with all of my glass dishes in the washing machine broken where I apparently attempted to wash them in there instead of the dishwasher. Also saw a chair walk once on that shite. Freaked me the hell out. Sitting out on the porch and the chair next to me literally looked as if the legs were bending and walking towards me. I was on the phone with my mom and I told her the chair was walking. I don't remember much of anything after I take that crap. Better than roofies.

It rarely snows here...ever. We aren't equipped with the necessary machinery to clear the roads and most of the time we get ice instead of snow. That shite is dangerous even if you're a damn yankee.

Yea, 50% of the people running off roads and into ditches during Snowpocalypse in Atlanta last year were originally from Connecticut or Illinois.

It's 29 here right now. My Southern soul is not equipped to deal with this shite. Gimme 103 with 100% humidity. That I'm used to. And raging thunderstorms. Love those. frick the cold and wintry weather, though.

If I'd seen anybody on the side of the road with a Connecticut tag I'd have left their arse there.

Because frick Connecticut.

The same can be said about Northerners and hurricanes...like Sandy. If Sandy had managed to just turn west a few days earlier and hit along the southern Atlantic coast, it barely would have made the news.

It's all about infrastructure and what local authorities and agencies are prepared to deal with.
