There are a lot of things about life now a days that Jesus wouldn't like. The Catholic Church was created to gain power. It gained power at unprecedented levels and with unprecedented staying power. It may be the most successful organization in Human history.

It's illegal to shave your beard before entering a temple.

It's illegal to tie a knot on the sabbath.

Disobeying your parents is punishable by death

All stated in your little Sci Fi novel. If those gays are going to hell, you are right there with them. Religious bigotry. You'd think it would have disappeared over time, as the Bible proves itself not on as a terrible moral guideline, but ridiculous to an absurd level. From the all powerful God needing a nap after creating the solar system, to the All mighty God having emotions like vanity and jealousy. The dude created an angel that he ended up battling in some amazing battle. Let's clarify that. The all knowing God made the devil, so he is to blame for his evil by any reasonable deduction. You know, if you actually believe in the devil. My goodness, you can believe in a higher being and cut out the nonsense you should have stopped believing as a ten year old already. Noah...my God hah

It's pretty apparent to anyone that has read Revelations that the pope is the antichrist.

I knight for the Church a lot, but you're not wrong.

Solid thread. The office of the pope is the antichrist IMO.

Where in the Bible does it tell you that Mary and the saints can pray for you at all? I don't believe they have divine authority to hear my prayers.

Look, I'm not Catholic. But how is asking a saint/angel/etc to pray for you that much different in principle compared to asking your living friends and family to pray for you in times of need???

"Well, I sure am in a rough patch. I sure would love to reach out to my good friend and head deacon Bobby and his very righteous family to pray for me, as I have done for the past 40 years of my life until yesterday when they all died in a car wreck. Although they are all in heaven now-and I have no doubt about this because they were Godfearing folk, saw each one of em walk down the aisle during the invitation and confess themselves a sinner and ask Jesus to come into their heart and get baptized the following weekend-and, if by proximity only, closer to God than I am right now, I can't ask them to pray for me. That would be blasphemous AF."

Some of the strangest and most persistent attacks on the papacy are claims that the pope is the anti-Christ, the beast from the book of Revelation, and the whore of Babylon. But these claims are easily rebutted. 1 John 2:22 says that the anti-Christ “denies that Jesus is the Christ,” but no pope is recorded as ever having done this. Likewise, Revelation 17 speaks of a beast that sits on seven mountains and persecutes the holy ones of God, but the Catholic Church doesn’t persecute Christians or sit on “seven mountains.” Vatican City rests on Vatican Hill, which lies across the river from the seven hills of Old Rome where Christians were crucified and fed to the lions.

The beast in the book of Revelation does have a name that is numbered 666 (Rev. 13:18), which Seventh-day Adventists say corresponds to the numerical value of the Latin rendering of the Pope’s title Vicarius Filli Dei (Vicar of the Son of God). The problem with this claim is that this is not one of the pope’s titles; he’s known as the Vicar of Christ. Ironically, the numerical value of the Latin rendering of the name of Ellen Gould White, founder of the Seventh-day Adventists, is 666! This shows that many names can correspond to this number, though many scholars agree that it probably refers to a Roman emperor like Nero, or the Roman Empire as a whole because of its violent persecution of the Church during the first century.

While some Fundamentalists might say it is the “spawn of Satan,” the papacy is actually God’s gift to the Church. It ensures the Church will be united in one faith, one baptism, and the worship of one God who entrusted his Church to the successors of the apostles under the leadership of Peter’s successor, whom we call the pope.

tbh I'm an agnostic but I think it's possible the Catholic Church is Mystery, Babylon the Great.

I have an idea for the Antichrist and 666 also (not the catholic church)

Actually, the papacy and it's system is foreign to the early church. I'm familiar with the Roman Catholic teaching rejecting sola scriptura which is needed to introduce non-scriptural practices and views within Christianity.

The Church which was established by Jesus isn't the Church seen in the Roman Catholic system.

Mayer Amschel Bauer hung a red plate over his door. He changed his name to the German for "red plate." This red plate bore a long recognized occult symbol - with 6 points, 6 triangles, and a 6-sided polygon. His sons become very powerful bankers, funded some really big wars, and funded a new country whose flag bears this symbol.

Exactly!!! And the most opulent, extravagant churches are usually catholic. If he wants more money for poors, they need to auction some shite. Step up Pope. Quit asking others to do what you and your church do not. In fact, Jesus would probably find the riches of the church to be sickening.
