This is the dumbest statement I've seen on this board and that is HARD to do.

Im a Catholic and certainly do not worship the Pope. The guy is a leader of one of the worlds largest religions, but he is a man.

Seriously Bowl?

Next thing you'll be professing the Pope is secretly the Emperor of Magma or some such chit.

Ignorance like this is.... No never mind. You're just an ignorant prick. Catholics don't worship The Pope, Mary, or saints. What's wrong with asking them to pray for you? When a Catholic prays to one of those three they aren't praying for worship, they are praying to ask them to pray for them in addition to asking God for his blessing and prayer. Show me where a little extra prayers can hurt.

I'll play. I disagree with the no Catholics worship that's ridiculous. Just because they may worship differently doesn't mean they don't at all.

Where in the Bible does it tell you that Mary and the saints can pray for you at all? I don't believe they have divine authority to hear my prayers.

There's a passage in Revelations about offering up prayers to the saints if memory serves correct.

Magma isn't real, that's ridiculous.

It is possible he could be affiliated with the Reptilian Elite though. I'll have to do my research and get back to you on that.

Revelation 8:3-4...And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Saints meaning believers/born again Christians...does not mean good dead catholics. So the prayers of God's people. So still not a point of reference to pray to saints that are dead. Another reason u would t pray to Mary or the Saints is because you can go straight to source.

Also John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Not knocking anything I just personally disagree. I don't see where any of it is backed up by scripture. To each their own .

Actually, in the first century, the term "saint" referred exclusively to good and dead Christians. And Webster's defines the word "saint" the following way:

quote:

a person acknowledged as holy or virtuous and typically regarded as being in heaven after death

Also...the oldest Christian denominations in the world all believe in the intercessions of the saints, as does Judaism - the religion Christianity spun off of. This idea that the dead in heaven cannot pray for us is a purely modern invention.

A pope guy chosen by popular vote and political wrangling. Puts on a sheet or cloak, or whatever and he becomes the man of God for the Catholics. Then tells citizens of countries to STFu about illegal immigration and have open borders. frick that and frick him.

Go read some of Pauls letter where he states that believers are Saints. You make a valid point but going off of the Bible's terminology and definition, not Websters to be fair.

Why on earth does the pope sit on a throne, wear 'clerical clothes' and accept worship? Where did that come from? (Not the bible)

Ignoring that sola scriptura was a nonexistent concept for the first 1500 years of christianity, nobody worships the Pope.

Sitting on a throne and folks bowing before him and kissing his ring isn't worship?

We both know such behavior toward Peter isn't in the bible.

I mean, they believe he was hand selected by God to lead the one true church started by Jesus. That's a pretty big deal if you believe in that sort of thing.

It doesnt mean they worship him as a deity or anything. I see lots of reverence and respect but not really what I would call worship.

Catholics are kinda like the Masons. Your entire organization is a front, it serves Mammonism, or Satan under a guise. But that doesn't necessarily mean your everyday Catholic is definitely a Satanist. There are many levels to it.

Just go to the Vatican and look at all the gold, art, and opulence - it's like the exact opposite of what Jesus wanted.
