Can he be both? If so, then he's both. He's also the 12th Imam if he can be that, too.

I've never seen a single Catholic worship God or Jesus at the same level they all worship the pope

That's odd. I've been Catholic for over 4 decades and have never known anyone who did worship the pope. As far as I've ever known, we only worship the same God/Jesus as other Christian denominations, and do it based on Biblical teachings. But what do I know?

He's acting like a political leader. Did you miss the part where he gave a speech in front of congress and didn't mention God or Jesus once, only discussing social justice.

The Pope of course talked about social justice, as actions/deeds do matter in the Catholic understanding of scripture and Christ. His perspective is quite consistent with the dogma of the Church.

A bunch of ignorant protestant conservatives have issues with this for some reason, but the rest of us appriciate what he's doing here.

Watching college educated adults argue over how many angels God can fit on the head of a pin never ceases to astound me

I get being religious, but the catholic hate from other christians is just so ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, there are tons of knuckle dragging Protestants who will kick the Roman Catholic Church any chance they get but of course it's not a one way street. The Roman Catholics have their RebelGators too.

Because none of the denominations are particularly more or less believable than the next, probably.

I mean, I don't think Catholicism is on the same level as Mormonism. Mormonism is just Christianity with a few more ridiculous details. Mormonism is certainly less believable because of that. The rest are all equal in terms of believability, if you will.

I will disagree. I choose to believe in what the bible says.

Rebelgator, you went to Catholic Schools right? Have you heard the Pope say anything inconsistent with Catholic teaching?

Yup. Pre k through high school.

Nope. This pope has been closer to Catholic social teaching than any pope I can think of other than JP2.

Well, to me, that's really nothing more than a circumstance of your upbringing/environment/etc. I just don't see any reason to think one version is particularly more believable than the next.

Can we please get back on the topic of discussing how the pope is the antichrist, or at the very least the last pope ever and a Fals Prophet, and not about the merits and believability of Catholicism?

K thnx bye
