Any suggestions as to whether I should join a crossfit gym or not?
$80+ per month which I'm not too excited about, but wanted to try something else out for a bit. Various workout routines over the past few years have grown stale.
I did one for a few months in college but I couldn't really afford it when classes started back and I couldn't work as much. But they are very cultish and are going to try to get you to sign up for all sorts of random shite that you don't really need. They typically don't stress proper form like I would have liked. But it was a very welcoming experience and provided tons of motivation to get up and get better. The variety in the workouts was a huge plus for me being someone who didn't grow up spending a lot of time in a gym.

The past 4 days I've been hittin it pretty hard for the first time in years. I'm 5'11 205lbs. 22 years old and was looking for some advice regarding my workout. In the morning I drink a cup of coffee and a nutrition bar (150 cal). I'm usually on my feet all day during work and can get about 10,000+ steps in by around 3. For lunch I usually eat a sandwhich on whole wheat, mainly chicken salad. Have been limiting myself to around 300 cal. Per meal for 4 meals throughout the day with roughly 8 glasses of water. When I get home I usually run/walk 3 miles. Past 4 days I have gotten my step count up to 20,000+ a day. So my question is, is this an effective way to try and drop 10-15 lbs? I want to be around 185ish.

Absolutely
All you have to do is move more and eat less
It's that simple and if you add in some push-ups, sit ups or other excersise that works a major muscle group you'll get there even faster.
At 1200 calories a day though you are pushing it, don't want to make your body too weak

It's weird tho, as of the past 4 days of running, I just have little appetite. I think it's because of the amount of water I've been drinking. Most of my excess fat is in my waistline/lovehandles and I figured instead of doing crunches, just run and lose fat from head to toe. It's crazy how addicting jogging is. I consider myself to be very lazy, but once you get in the habit, it's hard to shake the crave of that runner's high.

Combined with running my same amount, how many push-ups/crunches should I add to my workout IYO?

Just however many you want, I try to do three sets.

One thing I don't understand is the calorie deficiet. Say I'm eating 1600 calories a day. According to the deficiet program you need to burn 500 more calories than you consume. According to this, I would have to burn 2100 a day for a net of 500 everyday to burn 3500 in a week which is equivalent to one lb of fat. I just don't see how it's possble to burn that many calories in a 1 hour workout (the time I have allocated)

That makes no sense
But I've lost almost 40 lbs doing excersise every 2-3 days that equates to around 1100 calories burned, and trying to keep my average calories around 1,600
Remember your muscles keep needing and consuming extra fuel while healing and growing long after your actual workout

I guess my main concern is not eating enough and having my metabolism slow down drastically vs. eating to much and not being able to lose weight. Right now, I'm just trying to make every decision healthy. It's just strange to me because all I've eaten today is a paleo nutrition bar and a chicken salad sandwhich with like 6 glasses of water and I'm not hungry in the least.
