Suck my geoduck. I've been out in the pool drinking in anticipation of the upcoming game.

To summarize...Cat is not afraid of snakes and she does not believe in God... Cat is Eve reincarnated, probably picked the apple and brought sin into the world. Thanks a lot Cat!

And go UK tonight.

Snakes are evil and must be destroyed. I live by this general rule: if it has more than 4 legs (spiders), or less than 2 (snakes), I don't want it anywhere close to me.

My recurring nightmare is running over a viper on my bicycle, and the sumbitch wraps himself around the rear wheel but manages to avoid the gears. His head flops around every wheel rotation so he can take another lunge at my butt. Can't stop! What do I do? And then I wake up.

That hasn't happened... yet.

reptiles carry salmonella. Now you're going to poison your family with a dead snake.

Reptiles eat rodents who carry plague. As long as the fellow was not big enough to eat your pet or kid, and was not poisonous then live and let live.

I grew up in country and I let non rattlesnakes live.

This one was about 3.5 foot and is where my kids play (or will when I mow)

So you have a nightmare of a snake attacking your butt and you are a TAMU fan? Man, this stuff just writes itself!

More people get killed by lightning than snakes. Totally irrational fear. Snakes are very beneficial.

Funny that the little fricker let you take a picture and then walk past him to retrieve the instrument of his doom without slithering off. Usually once a human comes anywhere near, snakes don't stick around for long. Wonder if your neighbors had been feeding it?

Not really scared of snakes, because my brother had a red tailed boa, but I've never had to kill a snake at our house.

However, spiders are a different deal. If they're over the size of a quarter, I scream and have my husband come and kill them.

Yeah, despite my attempt at humor earlier, I really was torn. I really am a weenie about snakes but I don't kill for the sake of killing. I eat what I kill. Obviously it wasn't a viper but I I've tossed about 3 snakes that I didn't kill (other than the copperhead) out because they were only about 6 inches to 2 feet.

I live in the middle of a town. I could throw it in the back of the truck but the closest non inhabited area is a 20 minute drive.

There's a soccer field behind my house and if I put it over my fence it'd be in the middle of that. I kinda hissed at it so that it would get scared and rushed it but no movement. Just sitting with his head raised. Definitely not scared of me. My kids were going to come out and grill with me and I didn't want to mess with getting my fearless 4 year old to not to screw with it.

Snake is somewhat commonly eaten where I'm from. There's even a rattlesnake rodeo near my hometown with a variety of snake meat dishes to go along with the events.

Here is the likely reason you had a 3.5 foot snake in your back yard. You may have roof rats and not even know it but a snake certainly would.

I wish people had as visceral a reaction to rats as they do to snakes. Rats will attack sleeping babies, they carry disease and they destroy property. Snakes are one of our allies in keeping them under control. I hope you'll consider that the next time you encounter one.

what kind of snake was it?

See below...this is when shite gets real. A friend who lives in sydney Australia sent me this. this is a king brown snake. about 9 ft long. And thats not a real huge one. Deadly poisonous, very aggressive and they have no problem with urban areas.

Snakes control rodents who carry things such as plague
Spiders control insects who carry things such as malaria

If you grew up on the land you know who is your ally and who is not. City folks are such pussies when it comes to spiders and snakes and have no appreciation of their watchdog status for humans.

Australia is full of deadly and aggressive shite that are not human friendly. They have the great white, the box jellyfish, the funnel spider, the brown snake, and the only poisonous mammal! Australia is like the exception to every rule, and hence does not count. It is also all the more reason not to live there no matter how hot the women are.

Great Whites concentrate a few places. One of which is right off of San Francisco. Whereever there are seals... you get the man in the gray suit.
