Very good addition.
One is one of my all time favorite songs(mostly because of the memories attached to it. It was very popular my senior year of high school) but U2 is terrible.

Cobain and Nirvana changed rock. In Utero is an album that I think is genius and encapsulates about a two year period where that shite just entered new levels of crazy expression, and turned rock on its arse.
Pretty much everything that came after has been influenced by it.
He might be overrated by some people, but he has his place in American music history, IMO.

Count me as one who has never understood the appeal of U2. I just don't get how they are as big as they are.
Old Bono, whiny, very mediocre, and douche-tastically self-righteous. U2 is like the tigerbeat band of early 90s alt.
Of that general subgenre of non-grunge, non punk early 90s guitar alt, REM is miles ahead of anything U2 ever put out. Cure is/was three times the band that U2 is. I have had this conversation with several friends who grew up in that era and most males agree wholeheartedly.
I only ever knew females who were drawn in by that narcissistic wankery, bland as cardboard sound. U2 is just faggy enough to be annoying, yet not "frick-you-punk-rock" queer enough to be cool.

Ok? I'm just saying I don't think he would have got to where he has without his name. He doesn't really separate himself from pretty much a thousand other modern twangy country guys. And granted, I think this whole thing applies more to his father than him to an extent. (IMO)
