They don't actually steal, they just ask you to pay for things that you enjoy.

Like safety and security and all that jazz.

Tittays.

Are we surprised that the powerful manipulate the system? Are we surprised that the poor manipulate the system?

The problem is greed and pride. And it exists in every socioeconomic stratum.

Much of your income tax goes towards paying the interest on the debt.

The more ya know.

Right on.

Amid this Ferguson incident I've been making this point.

What is causing the top to get away with whatever it wants, what is causing the bottom to be so disconnected from the rest of society. Why isn't this system working? My conclusion - capitalism and everything that goes with it has failed.

Yeah, which was used to purchase the strongest military might on the entire planet.

Safety, security, herp.

I'd trade fake money for a military that can do what it wants, when it wants any day.

Capitalism failed? With societies mindset, it is the only thing keeping the peace. Is it the best thing possible? That's for another discussion not for the faint of heart.

What hurts more? Losing your life saving when you're old and knowing that some suit is spending all your money buying some mansion and driving a Lamborghini or seeing some people you don't give a frick about steal liquor and tennis shoes?

I'd bet on the US being the first nation to overcome the everlasting tradition -- empires fall.

But anyway, much of your income tax goes to paying debt, debt that would not exist if we created currency in the treasury instead of letting a private corporation create it and loan it to us with interest. That fact nullifies your point about using money to buy the strongest military.

The more ya know.

I'd say it sucks more to be a store owner getting looted firsthand and losing your entire life than some dude taking a few bucks from your 401k.

Quick fix -- A tax system based on consumption not income, a shift from corporation to cooperation, and very importantly a monetary system that isn't enslaving -- currency needs to be created as a means of trade, not as debt for control.

Long fix -- insert multiple novels.
