I have a Beretta PX4 Storm .40 and I love it. Lots of fun to shoot.

Like I said my Baby Eagle is my favorite but my Walther PPS is a close 2nd.

Didn't meen to offend. I know the Glocks are very good guns. I just want something a Little different for my first pistol.

No offense taken.

A friend of mine has several weapons in his arsenal. We are gonna go to the range this week and I'll get to shoot whatever he has.

The bottom line is most name brand pistols are good quality. You need to find the one that fits you and you are comfortable with. Goid luck and have fun with it.

Just find something that fits your hand well and you feel comfortable shooting.

The Walther was a very nice gun. I, also, like that it's not as popular. Seems everyone has a Glock or an XD!
Walther's are nice, but it's good to get more popular guns. A rarer gun just means it's that much longer before any new accessories are made for it, and you won't have as many options with holsters, et cetera.

True but Walthers are popular enough to have plenty of accessories. At least I haven't had any trouble finding anything I want for mine.

Good point!
So, when I make my purchase, how much do I need to factor in for accessories?
What holsters do you guys recommend?

Holsters are different for everyone. Just like the gun try different ones to see what fits you and how and where you want to carry the gun.
I have mine custom built by a saddlemaker I know so I don't knoe much about the ones on the market.

Ruger SR9 is a lot of gun for the money and a brand new one fits your price range just fine.

I actually don't even have any holsters. My carry gun is small enough that it fits in my pocket, my XDm came with a holster, and I only use my 1911 at the range.
When you first buy, the only thing I'd recommend is night sights, and you can probably get them for $150, with installation.
I wouldn't suggest buying a laser until you're proficient with the weapon, because you don't want to rely on the laser entirely. LaserMax makes a laser that actually replaces the guide rod, though it's incredibly expensive ($300). Crimson Trace makes grips for a lot of different weapons that have a laser on them. Those are probably your best options.
Personally, I don't use a rail mounted flashlight, I just keep a flashlight near my handgun.

I don't rail mount anything. I do have some crimson trace grips on the BE but it's more for intimidation than anything as I am an instinctive point and shoot guy.

Yeah, it's not really healthy to depend on a laser.

Now I do have a nice laser on the Desert Eagle Mark VII because it is a surprisingly accurate handgun at long ranges.

You guys have been really helpful.

That Deagle sounds like fun.
OP, we can all tell you as much as we can, but the important thing is to go try a few guns, and pick the one you're comfortable shooting. Don't get too hung up on caliber either.

Yeah it is but when configured in 50 cal it's like $5 every time you pull the trigger. The damn thing is surprisingly accurate. I can put 7 inside a silver dollar at 50 yrds with a half assed rest. I got a friend who is a much better long range pistol shooter than I am that can shoot a 2" group with his at 100 yds from a weaver stance. But he is a competition shooter and that's all he does. I wish I was half as good as he is freehand
