Thankfully they should start to wane a little bit, unfortunately these areas also had all day to heat up.

ETA: TWC with the cock with tiny balls graphic.

This is one of the many things that bother me about TWC and really, the media at large. In big writing on the screen it said, "TORNADO COMTINUES AFTER IT DESTROYS ILLINOIS TOWN", while I'm sure it did damage as big as it was they have no idea at this point if a town was destroyed or not

Actually, TWC had a storm chaser drive into the town, on live TV, to find it destroyed. Then they ran the headline.

I know I was watching that part, the footage by no means proved an entire town was destroyed

Houses were seen still standing in the area, etc.

To be clear, I'm sure it was horrific and there is a lot of damage cause that Tornado was a beast but they are making an assumption to draw in viewers with their dramatic line

I was following the radar on that one. The town is about 5x5 blocks. The chaser drove about 2 blocks showing major damage, but most structures still standing. Then got to a point he couldn't go any further, and all you see is debris, and what used to be houses.

Would you rather they just say "Seven-Eighths of Town Destroyed, Approximately, Based on Preliminary Observations" ?

Because that would be so stupid.

The Weather Channel just had a great discussion on how tornadoes work.

Duke, where can I look at radial velocity more than 30 minutes old? Wunderground free version only give me 30 or 40 minutes.
