Why can't you use ground coffee in your Keurig?
coffee must be ground. You can't brew it using the whole bean. With the refillable kcups, you probably need to use a certain type of grind, so that the filter doesn't clog.

A quality burr grinder is key. Other grinders leave too much ultra fine powder, that turns into sludge on the bottom of your cup..I've used a fine sieve strainer before to get rid of it. But it's a messy pain in the arse.

I may be in the minority on this... but coffee, and I like good flavored coffee, is a means to an end rather than the destination itself.

$20 days this guy also thinks the same thing about foreplay.

Water is definitely key. In Colorado, I don't give a damn, and use water from my sink. But in Louisiana, I double filtered it before brewing. I couldn't finish a cup when my roommate brewed it from sink water.

It's the same reason I think Abita sucks, poor water quality.

I'm not surprised you have a special water filter for coffee. The only person ice known who has roasted their own beans, is a Brazilian in law, raised on a coffee farm.

I thought I was pretty well educated on coffee but I nominate Frisco as our resident Barista Emeritus! Good stuff!
