I like to think he was black. The idea of southern evangelicals reacting to the revelation that Jesus was black and called God "Allah" gives me happy pants.

Now, if you are wanting to debate his skin tone, he appeared as a 'normal' middle eastern Jew. Almost certainly a much darker tone than us caucasions.
Scripture says there was nothing 'remarkable' or 'different' about his appearance to distinguish Him, so if you can determine what 'normal' was in that area at that time, you would have a pretty good idea.

Roger, if by 'black' you mean of African descent, no I don't think he was. I believe (but don't know) that he WAS of a dark complection typical of middle easterners.
And by the way, 'Allah' is just another word for God in a different language. It shouldn't bother us for someone to call God 'Allah'. Where the real difference comes, is in what we believe as to the nature and intent of 'Allah' or 'God'.

Egypt is in Africa and Africa is black. Middle East is more black than white or asian so Middle East = black.

Whatever. Jesus wasn't 'from' Egypt, although his ancestors many generations before did spend a long time there as exiles and later slaves.

It is about 300 miles from Cairo to Jerusalem. Hell most folks in the SEC do that in a weekend on a road trip. I know the white southern baptists have a coronary when you suggest Jesus was black, but it is what it is.

To me, the answer is simple, If you believe Jesus is who he says he is, then he is none of the above. Immaculate conception would mean he had no genes from Joseph or Mary. If you don't then he would have to look like them.
