In the early-morning hours of June 30th....

"How he was captured is in serious dispute — whether he simply walked off his post in eastern Afghanistan in disgust over the army’s prosecution of the war, or whether he was captured as he lagged behind on a patrol, or whether Taliban fighters grabbed him out of a latrine.

A new article in Rolling Stone says categorically that Mr. Bergdahl, then a 23-year-old private, left his weapon and other gear behind and walked away from his combat outpost after being deployed for only a few months."

Sorry, but I'll continue to wait for solid evidence before quoting The Rolling Stone (Remember the Boston Bomber?) and discussing things in serious dispute.

No one knows at this time and that's the bottom line.

The military newspaper Stars & Stripes reported last week that even now “the Pentagon has never presented a detailed account of Bergdahl’s disappearance, but he is not classified as a deserter and has been promoted twice while held in captivity.” (He is now a sergeant.)

frick Bowe Bergdahl. He was AWOL when he got captured. He's a deserter and should spend the rest of his life in prison. Can't believe we lost lives have gave up high value prisoners to save him.

That's straight from the soldiers who were on post with him. You act as if Rolling Stone just made it up.

Father of Bowe deletes odd tweet.

Finished his press conference with the most frequent phrase in the Koran — “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim” —which means “In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate.”

Fricking weird. And don't try to pretend it's not.

Maybe Mr. Bergdahl's tweet was misunderstood. Hitler was mostly misunderstood you know...

Yeah. I got lots of Islamist activists on my Twitter feed and regularly drop in Arabic quotes from the Qur'an in casual conversation.

Serious question, I don't understand twitter, have an account or use it. Is that really a Bergdahl account?

I'm not sure bro. I also don't have twitter but it's my understanding that there are many parody accounts.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's real though, those people seem off to me.

I don't have cable, is this shite all over the news and stuff?

No. It's on the blogs. I don't think anyone wants to touch a story on an Islamist Idahoan who's happy to have his deserter/POW son back after an exchange with the Taliban for 5 suspected terrorists from Gitmo. My head kinda hurts just thinking about it.
