Vinegar on fries is a British tradition ,particularly England and Scotland, with fish and chips. Most southern settlers were Scots-Irish… so I guess technically in America it's southern by way of Britain.

Not really. In the US, it's mostly a mid-Atlantic thing, except for a few fast food chains. Captain D's, 5 Guys....places like that have malt vinegar for the fries (and fish).

They serving vinegar with fries at the SECCG?

Captain D's was my immediate thought. Their vinegar on the hush puppies is worth killing for. I blame them for me being such a fat shite growing up.

I think it's a regional thing...I'm in Fort Collins CO and the 5 Guys here does not have any form of vinegar. Can get regular fries or Cajun fries. Only condiments are mustard and ketchup.

I get weird looks requesting catsup with fries in Canada. They like gravy on them.

best fish and chips i ever had was standing by the docks in Portsmouth England, looking at the HMS Victory as i ate. Pretty much ruined me on other fish and chips, although there is a scottish guy who runs a food cart in Portland that does pretty good job.

Meth>>>>>any food to come out of England. Truly the most bland and uninspired food in the world, and I'm not even sure there's a close second

I only do ranch with my fries. Baumhower's Wings' gooey fries with ranch is a gift from God. Curley fries with bacon, melted cheese, with ranch.
