I just think everyone should have rights

Even the right to discriminate against someone for their lifestyle choices? If you can explain to me why someone deserves this right, then I'll concede.

I believe everyone has the right to buy a cake wherever cakes are sold, without someone questioning them about their personal life.

but I feel like it should be their right to be if they want.

And that's fine. No one is saying you can change someone's way of being. I'm just saying that that bigot shouldn't be allowed to turn away a customer because he's black. Or wait, we're still talking about homosexuals. I keep getting them mixed up because of the similarities in the arguments.

I'm not trying to be a dick either and apologize for calling you dense.

I never said you did. What are you talking about?

Think about this, if you had a Islamic owner, that refused service to someone because of his religious beliefs, what do you think would happen to him?

I don't know, but I would think that would be illegal as well.

But no one would say shite to him because they are scared of repercussions, whatever they may be.

But, because Christians constantly get shitted on by the government and everyone in general, and do nothing about it, people will do something about it.

If that was the case, they would go somewhere that doesn't care, get their tailored suit, and go on about their lives. It's about punishing that particular business owner for not showing that sodomy is right and good in the current year.

What if they don't have the option to go to another tailor?

Again, not everyone lives in a metropolitan area. No one should be forced to take their business elsewhere based on something personal to them. In my same small town we had 1 tailor. Hell, we only had about 1 of any type of service. Plumber, electrician, etc. You had to drive to Lebanon, TN, which was a solid 30 minute drive, if you wanted a different tailor. Why should they be forced to do that just because someone thinks God hates gays and therefore they shouldn't serve them?

(God would disagree, btw)

Except for in the bible it never said that being black was an abomination. However, it does mention that exact thing about homosexuals.

Doesn't the Bible also say love your neighbor as yourself and to not judge others or am I just remembering incorrectly?

aka "mind your business and just make the damn cake"-God

They do in small town TN. I promise. At least in my town. He may even be a deacon.

Yes it does. I am also not saying all Christians are like this.

I think I remember there only being two bakeries in my town growing up. Pretty sure the owners of both went to church.

Why are we doing this. I haven't said god would send them away. I am saying that if people want to it should be their right, for whatever reason.

I just don't see how the gov shits on Christianity. The Bible doesn't even say what you think it says about homosexuality. Homosexuality wasn't even a concept that was understood in Biblical times. There's not even a Hebrew word for it.

Why do you think the business owner's rights are more important than the consumer (whether he or she be black, gay, etc)? Why such a affinity for business owner rights? What about civil rights? Human rights?

Yea, people in this thread act like gays got all damn day to drive around town finding a tailor that isn't a piece of shite.

And all bakeries are not created equal. I should know. I'm engaged and my fiance has taken me to far too many. I know good and well that if the one she decided to pick, based on quality, decided they didn't like us because we were a gay couple, I'd be ready to murder someone.

We aren't gay, fyi
