Forde really has it out for you guys.

Forde started out at the Louisville Courier-Journal and was good friends with Rick Pitino. He became a huge Louisville honk when Pitino was hired there. He hates anything that has to do with Kentucky as a result.

It comes with the territory of being successful. If another team is more successful than my favorite team they have to be cheating.

I just hope this ends up helping the push to git rid of the NCAA. Dan Wetzel had a great quote in an article he wrote today about the recent story, "the core problem isn't the breaking of the rules, it's the rules that are being broken."

I saw a tweet earlier that put it in a little more derogatory terms, "Dear Yahoo, SI & others. You keep exposing the hoes, when you going to expose the pimp?"

I think the Olympic model wouldn't work in college athletics because boosters would just use sponsorships as a recruiting tool, but there needs to be some sort of stipend rule. The idea of amateurism in today's college climate is just a sham.

I think that's fair. The NCAA needs serious reform. I can't blame them for the rules they have, because I believe in those rules. I don't believe in the way they enforce them. There needs to be a judicial system very similar to the court system- that would bring one thing that is consistency, which is needed more than anything

Well howdy there, Ms. Nite

I went into hiding for the offseason and at the current rate of things I may have to remain off the SECr. The offseason stupidity seems to have carried on into the regular season.

Good, good. I went out and wandered around a bit before the WSU game and crashed at Balcony Bar to watch it. Was out of town this past weekend. Just let me know if you are coming into town and we'll find a tailgate to crash and/or go chill at Balcony Bar and watch the game.

and dont mistake what im saying as them having it out for manziel or a&m. they are obviously doing it just to create more interest. but ive honestly never seen ESPN or any other national media network lose their shite over a college athlete

No but everyone was busting his balls for running around the field and jumping up into the stands with the fans. Manziel has been under a lot of scrutiny lately, but it isn't any worse than the shite Newton got (at least on this board).

Really?

You missed Tebowfest? What you're seeing about Manziel right now isn't even a tenth of the coverage Tebow got. It wasn't negative press, but it was right up there with idol worship.

ok well i meant with negative press. i dont remember a single college athlete who got as much shite as manziel has gotten the past month or so from the national media. some of it was definitely his fault, some of it was absolute shite

School/work has had me in hiding.

I'll definitely let ya know when I'm coming down. Found out my uncle tailgates with an RV for every home game, so we'll definitely have to crash that one!

I'll for sure be down there for DSOR and the IB.

I think part of this is due to the offseason. There wasn't a whole lot else going on, so they had all their resources focused on one thing. Plus they had to drum it up real big to get viewers since there was nothing else interesting going on.

This is the crux of a whole lot of issues. Not one similar NCAA matter seems to be handled in the same way.

I know Belle will remember it, but if you read about the whole Enes Kanter eligibility issues a couple of years ago you see the inconsistency of the NCAA. Their have been players that have done much worse things and eventually became eligible. I fully believe if Kanter had played for anyone else besides John Calipari he would have become eligible.

well yea. like i said it obviously was to promote more interest. they werent going after a&m or manziel. but that doesnt make some of the shite theyve done any less ridiculous. like actually sending schwartz to college station just so he could create a hit piece on the a&m code of honor. or this manziel cam thing.

Manti Te'o would probably give him a run for him money.

Randy Moss would be a good one as well if you want to go pre-internet hysteria. Got pimped by everyone from Holtz to Bowden coming out of high school, managed to get kicked out of Free Shoes U (after Notre Dame turned him down for being a "troubled player") and then ended up at Marshall. Had multiple arrests before he was even a sophomore. And you had to be a real frick up to get kicked out of FSU under Bowden. Got lots of negative press over it even without the internet.

It's definitely happened to others before.

I was supposed to be back up in the 'Ham this summer and fall working, but that fell through. I took advantage and did absolutely nothing all summer.

Back in school this semester and my classes already promise to kick my arse.

I still love that Cal put him on staff so he could still practice with the players. Had a large part to do with Harrelson's development.

And while I hate UofL, if you want to talk NCAA inconsistencies you should also Google Muhammed Lasege. He got fricked with a rusty coat hanger by the NCAA for doing what he could to get out of his country.

i find it very hard to believe that randy moss had as much shite as manziel has had in todays world of twitter, social media, and 247 sports coverage. he may have gotten bad press that was really bad for that time. but i find it very hard to believe it was as bad as it is is now for manziel with the ammount of coverage there is

im not saying it hasnt. im just saying that it definitely has gone too far. when you send someone to stay on our campus for months just to do a hit piece on our honor code, they have gone too far
