Alabama. Huntsville area is nice but boring after a year or 2. Definitely for old people and families.
Rather be on the coast or BHam

Agreed. Since I live in Bham, I'm definitely biased. However, this town is coming up. If we can ever get out of our own way (looking at you City Council and Mayor Bell), we will be a destination city. Getttig the Civil Right's District to be taken over by The National Park Service is huge!

Alabama. At least it has a couple of decent cities and such. When rankings for education, obesity, poverty, etc come out on states, there's a reason that the most common phrase uttered is "Thank god for Mississippi."

LMAO.... Each state has it's pro's and cons.... I'd proudly live in either one.... I'd probably pick Mississippi though.... because I know it the best,,,

I'm not here to give an opinion one way or another but the Alabama people touting Birmingham is hilarious.

Birmingham is a hell hole not far in front of Jackson, MS.

You people need to get out more if you think Mobile and Birmingham are decent places to live.

Figure you are trolling but I'll bite. I've traveled all over this country and I can assure you that Birmingham is not a "Hell Hole". It's not perfect by any means but it is a city that is up and coming. If you choose to believe otherwise, then you are just an idiot or you're trolling.

Wouldn't trade where I live in Alabama for the entire state of Mississippi or Florida minus Tampa. Live in Madison, right outside of Huntsville.

Schools usually nationally ranked every year.

Great hunting and fishing nearby.

Hour and a half from Nashville, hour and a half from Birmingham, four hours away from Memphis and Atlanta, and in six hours I can be sitting on the beach.

Huntsville is the technology capitol of the south. There are more PHD's per capita in Huntsville than anywhere in the US. There are about 600 defense contractors in the area, Redstone Arsenal, NASA, Toyota, and list goes on and on. If you can't find a good job in the area, you suck as a human being.

Crime rate is super low.
