quote:Can you describe one of these situations? Does like, a Subway sandwich artist refuse to give black folks the proper amount of cheese on their sandwich? Then...idk, give you the stink eye to where you just know they don't like you? How do these things go down? And if I ever saw that happen, I'd tell the sandwich artist to put some more goddamn cheese on the person's sandwich.
I'm also not talking about if some drunken frat boy called someone the n word either. Humans will continue to be stupid until the end of the world, and dumb stuff like that happens. I'm talking about when a person feels unwelcome and lothed simply because of the color of their skin.

quote:I had the fricking cops pull me over, walking in my own neighborhood one time for carrying a bag of beef jerky. Some old hag called them and said I had drugs. This might offend some people but I'm about 95% sure that every black person I know would have called that a racist act, even if they were halfway joking about it.
This may not have been racism. I did the same thing, and an old white lady said the same thing to me.

I would tell them they need to get their entitled arse back to class. I'd tell them that they don't have a freaking clue what "oppression" or "intimidation" means. I'd invite to read a few accounts of their fellow blacks that have escaped any of the African nations recently if they wanted a real perspective of what "oppression" is.
I'd kindly inform them that in 2015, "oppression" really doesn't have a fricking thing to do with the color of your skin. If it's evident, which in this case appears to be BS it's just dumbasses being dumbasses.
I'd also remind them that in their desire to blame all of the ills of the country on "the man," that "the man" was black. I'd point out that the most powerful law enforcement officer in the country, was black; as was the previous one.
Most importantly, I'd remind their entitled arse that blacks and minorities have more opportunities today than they have had in the history of humanity and it's not even close.
Then, I'd kindly ask them to GTFO of my way so I could continue on with my white privilege.

I'd say everyone in some way is discriminated against at some point, and it sucks. Obviously blacks to a much greater extent. But the only thing you can focus on is yourself. Other people are other people and the way to eradicate hate is to love and to be the best person you can possibly be. Don't stoop to their level. Don't let them see you sweat. That's what the ignorant fricks want. Just live your life the best way you know how, and let them deal with their own demons.

No matter their race or ethnicity, I would tell them to go back to Africa because that would be funny to me.

Someone called you a bad name. Get over it. I've been called bad names from people of other races before and you don't see me protesting.

I first heard the word "Honky" when I was 8.
I was spending the night at my best friend's house, and his uncle was complaining about his boss.
"This honky motherfricker wants me to paint the whole damn house tomorrow ".
I asked "What's a honky?". He looked embarrassed and told me and my friend to go play outside.
