My wife calls it "the Florida lane" - in Georgia, 90% of the time, if some jackass is cruising in the passing lane, you can bet he's got Florida plates.

I would call it an epidemic in Kentucky. People dive into the passing lane to go below the speed limit.
Is drivers ed not taught in schools anymore? Do people not know there is a driving lane and a passing lane?

Man, this is so true. Especially in rural areas. Some of our good old boys are determined that the left lane belongs to them and, by golly, they're going to use it whether or not they're keeping up with traffic.
I don't give them the finger, though. Those racked guns are definitely loaded and they may not have gotten Bobbi Jo to spread 'em last night.

I see it all over Lexington and Louisville, on all the main roads. Most country people I see in rural areas actually have respect and know how to drive.

Well, since Kentucky is 50% urban and 50% rural I suppose it could be the urban boys traveling to the country or the country boys getting to the city. Whichever it is, it sure is irritating when one of them decides he wants the left lane for himself and his big truck.
