You have to define saved first

Stacked, have you ever watched "Idiocracy"? That is our future. Our species will continue it's irreversible slide of stupidity, to the point of extinction.
Looking at the last 500 years of history the future looks completely opposite of what you think.

Jesus Saves!
But not after 11:00 PM EST

Jesus Saves! But George Nelson withdraws!

Our intellect has peaked. The machines that do all our thinking today will eventually take over and deem humanity as a burden. And Arnold ain't walking through that door.

I disagree with you OP.
However, this line:
Made me laugh. Love that movie!

For there to be a machine that does all this thinking weather or not humanity is a burden or not it has to be created by a human.

Nope! Jesus is going to come save all the good folk, and the heathens can sort out the leftovers amongst themselves.

If Earth is habitable in 500 years I'll be shocked.

right up until the day it doesn't. Machines build 80-90% of an automobile today. Think what happens when AI is perfected, we will be relegated into raw material gatherers.

Ah, to be young and enthralled by scientism and pessimistic philosophy again.
I remember when I was a young whippersnapper, relegating life's existential mysteries to nothingness. The humanist approach seemed so endearing and captivating. I felt empowered by truth, and the truth was nothing, because I was nothing, and so are you.
As we slip back into the abyss.

Yes and while they do build automobiles they are still controlled by humans.

What makes you so certain of that? When we first create AI it'll be like a human baby it still has to be taught/programed by humans. When it does tap into the internet for the first time how do you know it will react and become like we see in so many movies in wanting to take over the world and produce even smarter AI, what if it doesn't want to do that?

ah, but what if it does?
Its all pretty irrelevant to you and I. We'll be long gone by then
unless you subscribe to re-incarnation.......
