I just think black themed comedies try to hard sometimes.

For instance, Ride Along.

I laughed my arse off several times during the movie but I also left thinking it could have been a better movie. Kevin Hart was solid but it didnt feel right with him and IceCube.

That being said, White comedy has went downhill alot recently as well. The first time you see Hangover it was a good time. The problem is...99pct of comedies have tried to go with the fricked up humor and it's just played out. The same could be said for that Big girl that played in Identity Theft. Every fricking movie she is the same person. It was funny as hell in the bachelorette but we are so beyond that shite.

The best movies these days are things like The Grand Budapest Hotel. It's quirky, it is intriguing, it doesn't rely on bad comedy gimmicks to carry it. Quality over regurgitated bullshite movies.

I will end with this, Steve Harvey is a racist but I loved me some Bernie Mac. That movie with him and Ashton Kutcher.

Eh, I disagree. Not a SH fan, though. His ultra-white teeth freak me out

Guess Who? Funny. As. Hell. One of the first movies wifey and I watched together (cliches be damned ).

Thought it was hilarious Bernie was a Jeff Gordon fan in the movie like me

Yeah, but like you implied, that's kind of comedies in general these days.

It's not really a debate. It's just my personal view of him after listening to his morning show off an on for the last several years. I don't think they have ever had a white person on the show and it's not that he talks negative about white people it's really not a subject. White people are used to crack jokes but in the context he has positioned himself as a black power type persona and that is fine. He is probabl a nice guy but his show makes it hard to view him as an objective person in the context of race. His bashing of republicans during both Obama campaigns and the Donald Sterling fiasco really made him seem racist.

Easily one of my favorites of Bernie Mac. I really miss his comedy.

It's the shitty humor they are using. Hollywood man

Eh, I disagree with his views on multiple things, but I don't think him bashing republicans makes him a racist. And tbh, what comedian doesn't make race jokes?

I agree with the way the Sterling situation was handled, though.

RIP, Mr. Mac

He passed away while I was at Field Training for USAF. Thought folks were messing with me when they told me at first. Hollywood lost a legend.

I just take it for what it is at this point. pretty easy to make me laugh, so I don't really get up in arms about it anymore.

Just watch a movie, laugh at the corny shite, and forget about it the next day, for the most part

No, the stuff like saying any white person that doesn't vote for Obama is racist and things like that. During the Obama campaigns I stopped listening to his show because of it. He does alot of the pandering and playing the race card when it's unneccessary. I find it hard to take some seriously if they make everything a racial problem.

As for Sterling, he is stuck in the 30's man. That is lost cause. He has probably mistreated many black employees and that's sad.

Older Eddie Murphy flicks (Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop, Harlem Nights) are great.

Tyler Perry is insufferable, it's a travesty that the comedy industry has made him rich.

Bernie Mac was actually pretty funny IMO

Ice Cube is pretty meh overall, but he is fricking hilarious in the Jump Street movies.

Ah, ok, gotcha. Yeah, that's way out of line. I don't listen to his show, so I'll take your word for it on that.

Reminds me of the way I have to talk to my extended family about politics. Most of them can't get past the fact that a black guy voted against Obama, so they cry reverse racism without waiting for my reasoning. It's maddening.

Agreed, and it pisses me off because when a racial problem that actually needs to be addressed arises, it's like crying wolf at that point

He has. His track record was horrendous in that department. Honestly should have been removed long ago, but stuff didn't stick to him for whatever reason (meaning, he had enough $$$ to get out of shite, for the most part).

Truly a sad situation all around. And as an avid basketball fan, I hate it for the few longsuffering Clippers fans who have to endure this nonsense during the one run in their franchise's history where they've been a force to be reckoned with.

Especially with them in the playoffs. Sheesh.

I still listen to his show. I love me some Nephew Tommy pranks . An honestly he is probably just catering to his audience. I guess it isn't as much racism as it is racial preference. He is comfortable in his skin and he makes it known.

Seriously. Overshadowed some remarkable basketball they were playing against Golden State and OKC. Scintillating series', both. Just sad that folks will remember their '14 run more for Sterling's shenanigans than, say, DeAndre Jordan's flat out ridiculous athleticism, Chris Paul's floor leadership in crucial situations, or Blake Griffin's continued evolution as a more complete player.

True. While I don't listen to his show (Nephew Tommy pranks notwithstanding, cuz that's some funny shite! ), I do listen to a movie/entertainment review website hosted by a couple of black guys called DoubleToasted.com. They're always hilarious, but they're liberal as hell (which makes sense, I guess, since they're out of Austin and both former univ. of texas students ).

Sometimes gotta take the good with the bad to get a laugh, I guess. I just tune 'em out when they start rambling about politics. Thankfully, that isn't too often.

Classic movie....Easily Chris Tuckers best film. It's a low budget corny flick but the scenes with Smokey trying to take a shite had me rolling.
