They're hiring right now if you're looking for an adventure for a few months. Plus it's. way to get a break from your parents.

The military is probably not going to be the route for you; there is a waiting list now (or so I've heard) and the meds will flat disqualify you.

Oilfield is a good route though. The work is hard and the hours are.... Well, kiss holidays good bye. The pay is good though and you can learn a trade on the job.

I thought you were wanting to go teach overseas ? What ever happened with that ?

And my advice would be go get a job in landscaping or construction... If you're living at home you can make decent money and the hard work will be good for you... The fall is right around the corner as well... Maybe contact your local Park and Rec and see if they have any openings for part time work refereeing kid's soccer games (they always do).

Good luck, Brother

ETA: Lay off the drugs until you find steady work again ... It will only worsen your depression... Once you're gainfully employed again then you can get back to smoking and rolling on your days off.

You'll never go wrong opening yourself up to the Holy Spirit and asking God for guidance and help, humbling ones self before the Father in prayer on bended knee restores your spirit.

I know it's easier said than done, but if you're on klonipin already you need to lay off the drugs and drinking. Benzos have such an insanely high potential for abuse especially when combined with other substances. I imagine you're self medicating for whatever issue (anxiety) got you the benzo scrip in the first place.

Anyway, it's cliche but start a regimen of self improvement. Set some goals. Exercise (this is a huge one for naturally dealing with depression and anxiety). If you start consciously improving yourself, doors will begin to open and the way may become clearer.

Stop doing drugs. That would be a start.

actually in high school we had vocational classes and I took welding for 3 years. But that was 5 years ago, so I haven't even touched a welder or cutting torch in 5 years.

This is the answer. Get off your lazy arse and drugs
and apply yourself, welders make good money. I Google Rock Hill SC area for welder jobs a lot came
up for that area.

Considering the multiple threads you've started about your drug problems, I'm going to say you probably need to address that first. If you don't it'll be just like Groundhog Day for you.

There's always hope.

If you can stand it, live with your parents for a while. Find a job, any job. Use the rent free situation to save up money and plan your next move.

Trade school is a great option. Or oilfield work too. Just make a plan and execute that plan. It will take self discipline to not waste your cash on drugs (even though I don't personally have a problem with you doing them they will only hinder you from a finicial stand point) and to focus on your plan.

You can do it. I did, so I know you can too....because I'm a damn idiot.

You already know the answer. Stop taking drugs and fricking off in general and just do it. Good luck.

I don't want to sound like a recruiter (which invariably means that I will) but you can always lie about your meds.

My advice is: Move to Mexico, become rich and lazy as people pay you to 'teach' them English.

Get a new job. Quit doing drugs. Take somebody that will be a positive influence out to eat. Start being active

This is obviously the playbook but when the person is depressed, unmotivated and without a trade they need something more.

When I first got back from the military I was homeless (perhaps by choice rather than necessity) and I literally had no idea what I was going to do. Fortunately, my mother is involved with contractors for the military (which was where I ended up) but I recognize that without that connection I might still be delivering pizza to this day if I hadn't already done myself in.

So in conclusion: It's not just me saying "get connected", it's just a matter of him needing the proper support to move forward.

I, for one, hope you get your act together and move on but always remember that your parents love you, and will help you. You do, however, need to express just how grateful you are that they are still there for you. I thank my Mom every day.

You won't be able to afford another shitty Camaro if you don't get off your arse, and stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Got fired from my waiter job a few months back (frick you Red Lobster), dropped out of college and I'm back living with muh parents. Also just spent my last bit of money on various drugs. I don't think I can join the military because I'm taking a low dose of meds.
Is there any hope for me?

Which Red Lobster? West Columbia?

You want another waiter job?

There is always hope young man. Right up until there is no more and you are decades away from that.

What sort of drugs?

You've got a girlfriend, right?

Why do I get the feeling that you are pulling our collective legs?

I can help you with the job ... what were you fired for doing if I may ask?
