Meat is too labor intensive for my tastes. At least I can go on vacation with my current set-up. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere if I had to take care of livestock.

Do you heat your honey or leave it in its natural state with all its goodies still intact?

Local honey is great and great for you?
Is yours raw (comb and particulate), strained, or pasteurized?

Structural engineer on paper, but for nearly 30 years it has been software development, mostly weapons effects stuff. I have a moonlighting job with other software that does OK, but I'd like to be doing a bit better than OK with retirement coming soon.

That is awesome. I wish I could do something like that. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm too lazy.

I am not proud of that.

Natural, nearly all of my customers prefer it that way. Honeycombs are fricking delicious.

I'm pretty lazy too. It was definitely hard work at first, but things became much easier once I had the right system in place. I also get (practically) free labor in the form of WWOOFers, who are usually very happy to work 5 hours a day in exchange for food, shelter, booze, drugs, and the occasional concert/festival ticket if they are rad.
ETA: It also didn't hurt that I was able to get free financing from family members. It would have been much more terrifying to start from personal capital or a bank loan.

Oddly enough, now I'm in Sales for one of the larger Fencing companies in East TN and love it

IT degree from a small private college.
IT manager for a state law enforcement agency. Got enough years in to retire, but went and became a father four years ago at the young age of 42 so I'm going to be sticking around for a while.

Medical Device Rep for an orthopedic company. Have a degree, but it has absolutely nothing to do with medicine.
