- They don't like sex. Seriously. We can't get them to breed consistently. They have to give them viagra and show them bear porn to get the hint.

God is trying to get rid of them and we keep force breeding them

This is just life out in the country if you're income is low.

Both of my grandfathers did shite like this with puppies and kittens but they also probably ate horse meat in the depression so who am I to judge.

shite was very very different not too long ago.

Man, y'all some cold mother frickers.

I've been living by myself working out of town for 4 years now. The only thing I have is my dog most of the time.

There's things I would do for that dog that I wouldn't do for a lot of human beings, including one of my sisters.

Nah, I've owned several terrific dogs. Enjoyed being a pet owner, in fact.

I just don't place them on the same level as human beings. My family is my family. My pets are things that my family owns.

Those people are insane. The same people who project deep human emotions onto their dogs, and get offended when their dog doesn't act like a person.

We have four dogs now and I love them. They are great animals.

Precisely.

Nothing wrong with being quite fond of your pets. I am. Most responsible pet owners are (key word: "owners" ). Some people seriously blur the lines, though, when it comes to humanizing them.

They are not your family members. They are not your flesh and blood. And, when the chips are down, they ARE expendable.

Dogs are awesome. They're funny and playful and intelligent and trainable and furry. They can be loyal and obedient and affectionate and protective. That's awesome enough the way it is. That's not enough, you need to act like they're even more than that?

They have this inherent bond with humans like no other animal. It is nice. But I'm fully aware that I could give them away to a stranger and as long as he gives them food and attention they'll be the same way toward him. Hell even if he doesn't, even if he's a neglectful POS, theyll probably still be the same way. That's not a family member. That's a really cool animal that was just born to love humans. I didn't do anything special.

No, they aren't. That's a legend that's endured from the 1930s.

They're all bear. Here's a LA Times story from 1985 that talks about the genetic testing that undeniably refuted the raccoon theory.
