Real, stone ground grits are a completely different deal than the instants you get out. They get creamy with nothing in them at all. Hard to beat with fried eggs. I go grits but love hash browns too.

Grits with a bit of brown cinnamon sugar FTW.

Really isn't even a legit question. Hash browns blow.

Correct response!

How can you not like grits?

Pepper Grits for the simple but powerful
Shrimp Grits for the uptown
Cheese Grits for the working man
Grits and real sweet butter (like grandma used to churn) for the old school
Grits and bacon gravy if you are having the neighbors over
Grits, country ham, and beaten biscuits were my grandfathers favorite
Grits and white gravy (usually sausage gravy) meant the preacher was due for a visit
Grits and redeye gravy meant the cousins were dropping in
Grits and brown gravy with meatloaf and sugar snap peas for the family meal

Hash browns are okay in a pinch (and you did not specify if they were shredded or home cut) but grits are always better!

It's a bad sign if you need to put all that silliness on a dish.

Agree. Grits and a bit of sugar and done. Don't even need butter though a little is acceptable.

Hashbrowns are fricked up potatoes.

This guy like legit, unfricked potatoes. Or sweet potatoes even better. Much better.

Don't hate because we like the best of both worlds.

I like grits but it has to have cheese and sausage or something like that in them. Hashbrowns fried in a little bacon grease is pretty damn good.
