i know what those look like, I'm just asking if we know for sure if it was that or just a normal wii remote. I didn't really read the story to see if they specify which one it is.

I think the most common is that zapper wii gun which is just a large piece of white plastic.

Because you're looking at a blown up picture on the internet. At more than a few feet in less than optimal light, it looks real enough.

Kid was a dumbass. You dont point fake guns at people with real guns. Its like sticking a fork in the electrical outlet.

Cop definitely shouldnt have just drawn and fired without warning, though.

We don't know that the fake gun in the picture is actually what was in his possession.

I just read through multiple news stories of the incident, and none have suggested the remote was anything but a regular Wii controller. Witnesses say he answered the door and was shot immediately... Then again, you can't necessarily trust what they're saying.

All of them report that the officer was hysterical when she realized what she had done. Coupled with this report about the grand jury, I think she screwed up. If the kid had really pointed that black gun controller at her the shooting would be completely justified ,and I would think she would still be a cop.

Yeah it's probably pretty clear cut if they are actually punishing a cop. She should have arrested him and shot him in the car.

even if it was the gun remote control i don't see how she would be much of a useful cop. She already proved to be trigger happy in a stressful situation. In a legit situation she might freeze up causing her or another officer to be killed, I wouldn't want someone that incompetent protecting my life. I think cops should faces serious consequences when they frick up. I think that about other jobs as well but its easier to reprimand other jobs without firing.

Not even going to read it.
A few years ago a cop shot 2 kids(in a car) at the end of my driveway.
It woke me up when he pulled them over, it was like 3am, and I heard the siren, went back to sleep, figured it was nothing. I never heard any shots( tells me that he had his weapon inside the drivers window and the passenger window was up, since the passenger side was facing my house).
Cop was riding around off duty, with his girlfriend in the patrol car.
No drugs or evidence of a weapon were found in the kids car.
They were just riding at 3am.
Both kids died from complications from the gunshots. I think the cop got 15 years.
