Definitely. We make it a point.

You ever had a burger after going a few solid weeks without American food? But seriously

Venison and buffalo are exotic?

If most of America hasn't had venison, sucks for them. Probably my favorite meat.

Where to start:

Cow
Chicken
Basically every kind of fish
Pig
Lamb
Horse
Sea urchin
Cat (hope they were fricking with me)
Gator
Frog
Scorpion
Roach
Seahorse
Starfish (spit this one out)
Snake
Gator
Kangaroo
Emu
Ostrich
Buffalo
Rabbit
Duck
Turkey
Beetle
Swan
Goose
Lobster
Shrimp
Crawfish
Octopus
Squid
Snail
Oyster
Clam
Scallop
Shark
Antelope
Donkey
Deer
Dove
Pheasant

And I'm willing to bet I've chowed down on dog before and not known it, and if you want to get into even more exotic meats, I've eaten hearts, necks, livers, feet, and intestines of various animals. I'll try anything once, although I'd have a problem with dog.

These are the ones I haven't had. Tell me about them, where were you?

China for all but the swan and antelope. Horse is just tough but mostly tastes like beef. Cat I was wasted and don't remember much. Scorpion was just crunchy as frick. Roach wasn't as bad as you'd think. Seahorse and the Starfish were by far the worst. Antelope I once had in a very expensive restaurant, as was the swan. Donkey actually tastes really good.

Hmm I've had seahorse, urchin, and starfish on sushi and it was fine.

The insects I've had were freeze dried and heavily dusted so they just taste like spice or cinnamon or whatever's on it.

I want to try horse, but my wife grew up with stables, she's a rider and a breeder. (joke time) It's not gonna happen unless I'm on my own. I can't even mention it

Antelope I imagine is similar to venison right

Oh and I've had Rocky Mountain Oysters multiple times

Bear is about the only "exotic" one I've had. I really enjoyed it. I don't consider things like Squid and Frog Legs to be exotic, but I've tried it many times.

Antelope is a member of the goat family and is very much like goat, stringy and gamey

It's a very bold taste. Very hard to grill as well. Tough meat, but full of flavor.

Squid as in fried calamari = not exotic

Squid ink pasta = exotic

But for the purpose of this thread anything that's not beef, chicken, pork, or common seafood

Hawaii state fish, right? Didn't realize it was served at places, though.

Not that it's all that exotic, but I've eaten yellowfin sashimi while the fish was still flopping in the box.

Aside from the usual south LA frog legs and hogs head cheese, black bear is delicious.

Kangaroo is not exotic at all in Australia. They eat it all the time. It looks like raw beef when fully cooked. It's really really good

technically antelope is "venison," it's not just deer.

I've had gator, squirrel, rabbit, but where I'm from I wouldn't necessarily consider those exotic.

raccoon
horse
some african oyster
ling/cobia(best fish ever)
amberjack
wahoo
blackfin shark
sailfish
triple tail
turtle
