You should just politely bring it up to your friend. Just say "Hey I was thinking I could setup my laptop to stream the games during the party if you guys wanted to, totally cool if you'd rather not but just wanted to throw that out there". I'm sure there will be a lot of people there wanting to watch the games.

Probably because your friends suck as bad as you. I have great friends who I dont see all the time, and we have had a great time at every engagement party I've been to.

False. Most of my friends don't give a frick about marriage, or anything related to marriage, and get together just to have fun. You're beta as frick Own that shite.

This would mean I'm missing the Alabama vs. Wisconsin, Texas @ ND, and Arizona St. vs. A&M game.

The second two you could catch the highlights later or just check scores and be done. As for the first, can you slip out to your car now and again to catch parts on radio?

Just an FYI, that could be a surprise wedding.

That's what my wife and I did.

I refuse to do a big wedding.

A suggestion from a woman I knew in CKY that now lives out west.

Got married quietly on the beach with spouse and 2 witnesses. About a year later they had a big party with about 200 F&F but it was casual and everybody thought it was just a fun summer party. About midway through they announced the wedding a year earlier and everybody was caught off guard but they said they wanted their friends to just share a good moment - the announcement - than go through all the stress and money of a big wedding.

Now married and multiple kids later and approaching retirement. Still married and still one of the best non wedding weddings I have ever attended.

Just call him at 6pm that night, try to sound real sick, and say you got food poisoning and can't get off the toilet.

Watch the game, and he won't be mad at you for not coming. It's just a fricking engagement party, not the actual wedding

Forget about watching the game, record it

Go tell the young man "thank you for your service". Give him your undivided attention he is on reason you can enjoy football

This thread has more projection than a movie theater.

Some of you have had shitty friends who clearly want nothing more than to take advantage of you at every turn. Sorry for your troubles.

However, some of you are like me in that you have friends that you enjoy hanging out with who want to share their major life experiences with you. Some of them may seem dumb (and are dumb), but hey, sometimes you want to overshare than to undershare, ya know? And for those friends, we give a pass for something silly like an engagement party, and go and expect to have fun.

I'd guess most of your friends dont believe in God, vaccines, or capitalism.

We do this also; engagement parties are just another excuse. Plus it brings the people from out of town who I haven't seen in awhile.

Not anti vaccine or anti capitalism. Not sure what those, or being Atheist or Agnostic, have to do with engagement parties.

A celebration for what? To say that you're going to get married only to, likely, get divorced a few years later? Why not wait until your bachelor or bachelorette parties for this? Many of us don't have the time, or want, to attend all of this shite.

Bitch, I will show you beta. I would devour your weak beta bitch soul and spit that shite out. Typical Mississippian though. Way to live up to the stereotype, bitch.

I'll probably be in the wedding. And I'm sure every other guy there will be wanting to watch the football as well so I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out. I'd ideally be downtown watching them, but I understand this is one of the more important moments in their lives, and there should be enough alcohol there to make me happy. At least it isn't a fall wedding. I'm skipping two family members weddings because they're on Ga-Fl and Auburn-Ga.

They don't have anything to do with engagement parties; people who don't believe in marriage are typically wooks who fall into the atheist/anti vaccination/anti capitalism categories.

You're from UK, so nice to see you're living up to your stereotype of reading comprehension, bitch.

Buy a digital receiver from Best Buy for $20. You'll be able to pick up CBS, NBC, and ABC. You'll at least get 1 game on
