The stand in the schoolhouse door:

"I Love Mississippi!":

Every time this guy shows up on campus:

A Mizzou fan atoning for microaggressions by facing towards Mecca in the "Safe Zone" while two other privileged whites protect him.

So let's all calm down a little bit.

Mizzou may be publicly bleeding all over the place but they aren't the first school to draw negative attention to the SEC for racial turmoil.

No, the situation at each school is far from equivalent or necessarily relevant to this moment in time. That's not the point.

Honestly, it's all part of figuring out how to coexist in a heterogeneous society that started out with us white folks enslaving one race and herding up another race onto reservations. The current generation isn't to blame but it is something we have to sort out. We can't just wave a wand and make it all go away.

Try to have a little self awareness.

Carry on now...

Wow, I'd never heard about that one until now. I would repost the pics in the OP but they are pretty damn provocative. I'd probably need a trigger warning.

Honestly (things I should never admit) I know firsthand that similar things happened at LSU in the early/mid 90s. It just never made the papers and the people at Party Pics never leaked it to the student paper.

Long before Facebook and the Interwebz was new and many of us (myself included) had a serious deficit of self awareness. We did a lot of dumb shite...which is true for most college students but now college students know how easily things can be broadcast in no time flat.

Yes, yes.

Being SEC means never having to feel any guilt at all.

That's Mizzou's crime.

In all seriousness, the protesters are definitely going way overboard. I'm not really on their side.

But do many of us stop to think how many way overboard things white people have done over the decades, centuries?

This shite will sort itself out once everybody calms down.

The 60s were far, far worse and somehow America survived and moved on.

These are terrible and should not be allowed to happen again in the future. What else is there to sort out?

I think we just need to gather up all the minorities and have one mass apology. They'll accept our apology, we'll all shake hands and we can all go on with our lives.

Problem solved.

This is a human trait, and not specific to one race or nationality. People of all races and creeds have done - and continue to do - awful, terrible things to one another. May God help us.
