rare agreement with spleen. Frick each and every one of them. Not because of politics, and them being rich. Couldn't care less how much somebody makes, they just usually suck big ones with low rates.

No Lowes for appliances (3 damaged dishwashers delivered in a row)

a lot of these i think fall into the right place/right time (or wrong place/wrong time) category.

i just had a new washer/dryer delivered from lowe's about a month ago. besides them being a little later than i expected, everything went perfectly. they took my old stuff, installed the new, let me clean behind before they installed (that was 8 years worth of dust) the new, overall it couldn't have been better.

they sold me paint that did not match the color they advertised even remotely. took it back they tested and said, what do you know, it doesn't. and didn't refund the purchase.

i was remodeling a bathroom once and a Lowe's dude was with another customer. understood. i sat and waited 20 minutes. he got done with her walked away and he said "sorry man, going on break."

I'm surprised by this Lowes around here will take anything back for any reason. A friend of mine contracted for them and half his jobs they didn't charge the customer for because they didn't like something they ordered or threatened to call corporate. When ice storms knock the power out everyone buys generators from them and returns them as soon as the power is up.

Oh for sure

No way every TGI Fridays has that bad of a manager. I know that. But the food isn't great anyways and now I have a reason I can justify in my head.

Columbia (the outdoors clothing company). I bought a wallet from them that fell apart after about a year. I asked where I could get it repaired or if I could purchase the exact same one and they were extremely unhelpful. So now I just don't purchase anything from them.

Yep. It's why I like this thread. Decisions are made on silly stuff like this all the time.

I wouldn't say hold grudges. But there's places I prefer not to shop because there are better options in the area. Walmart is probably the biggest one I avoid. And if it's something I can get from a local shop/chain there's a good chance I'll go there before a big box store.

Maybe, but I was installing my dishwasher myself. I ordered one from Lowes that they didn't have in stock. (Mistake) A week goes by, it comes in and is delivered to the house. I told my wife not to accept it if the packaging is damaged. The packaging is damaged, the delivery guys unbox the side with the damage to show her it's ok. I get home and finish unpacking it, and it is bent from a drop, the hinges no longer align. Rinse and repeat next time too.

The delivery guys insinuated to my wife that I damaged it installing the machine which would have sent me into a blind rage if I'd been home. I never even finished unpacking either because the damage was spotted before the wood was removed from the machine. Manager tried to "make it right" after I told her to come get the second damaged machine. I ended up keeping the third because 3 weeks without a dishwasher sucks.

BP for sure. frick BP.

Otherwise, I cant think of any I actively boycott.

I do hate Wal*Mart. Place is disgusting and attracts the lowest life on the planet. Really gross. However, I will go in there for specific items, but leave with a quickness. Place is a FREAK SHOW.

Can't you get Direct or Dish?

I have no end of trouble understanding why anyone would ever be a Comcast customer, because their service and customer service are universally horrendous.

frick Directv. I finally fired them a month ago due to high pricing and extremely shitty customer service.

Actually getting them cut off service was a nightmare. Took 3 days of constant calling to get them to acknowledge that no adjustment would be acceptable and they needed to frick right off and let me change.

A couple insurance companies, banks and other places that've treated me poorly. I just don't do business with them--and badmouth them of course whenever I have a chance:

Wells Fargo
USAA
Florida Hospital
Sears
Experian
TransUnion
Equifax

I buy from companies that give me the best product/service that I need.

So if they screw me, that's factored in to my decision but I wouldn't classify it as a grudge
