I've been lucky to come from such a large media market that I have always been able to count on one of my teams being good. Even if one fails and it hurts, I can generally be able to look to a different team to help out

Yea being a Cardinals fan has helped me out tremendously lately while dealing with the depression of the Titans and Tenn.

If the Cards suck some point soon I'm just gonna drink myself to death

I grew up a Mavs fan during the Shawn Bradley/Robert Pack/Samaki Walker 20 win per season years. When they won the title in 2011, I fricking RAGED

If A&M ever wins a national title, I'll party until my dick falls off.

I feel like the massive sucking might really help deal with future disappointment when I can put it into context. My dad, for example, is a lifelong Vols fan and remembers well the later 70s and early 80s when we were garbage (though arguably not as bad we have been recently). He always seemed to take losses in stride -- he was upset, but he'd always say, "I remember when it was really bad."

I hope that's what I can do at some point. I remember saying to my folks watching the Rose Bowl tonight that if Tennessee was in the game losing 59-20, I'd still be in the stadium going, "It's really nice that we made it to the Rose Bowl!"

I've honestly been thinking I need to be less emotionally invested in LSU football. It was a big reason behind my college choice. It worked out great, but it's still kind of crazy that was a huge factor in my decision looking back.

I first became a Bama fan during their second worst period in team history. In some ways I remember the down years just as fondly as the dynasty. It was fun to have the occasional upset. Plus I actually worry more now because the post loss shittalking from non Bama friends is so much worse now that they don't get as many opportunities.

Once I experienced going to the Rose Bowl and watch Auburn play in college football's greatest venue I realized that it's all worth it.

I'm not nearly as emotionally invested in games after the clock hits 0:00 as I once was. I can go on back to everyday life without it affecting me.

I basically realized that I love the school I attend and I just want to support the guys that play and invest in what I love no matter what.

I was offered nearly a full ride for engineering by Christian Brothers University in memphis out of high school, but I decided to attended Ole Piss instead because I grew up at fan. I still got an engineering degree, but I came out of it a masochist with an alcohol problem.

Seriously, when we we're at kickoff against Texas, it felt like my heart was going to explode. I just won't watch some games because I think I get too vested (it's just a game).

I attended Arkansas with a full ride elsewhere. I caught the piggy-fever from a young age. That said, being alum might make it worse. I don't live and die by my team, but I can never root for anybody else really. And I care about just about every sport, the school, the town, etc.

Its a sickness.

Being a sports fan is like a drug. I may get mad and claim "I'm done, I don't even care anymore" but a football offseason is a long time. A few hype videos and the calendar turning to September and I'm all in once again.
