Seeing as we've had almost a decade to prepare and will get a few more years still, I'd say we're ready for whatever you can bring.

Let's be fair, you've had about 6 years to prepare.

Ole Miss and Oxford are awesome. I had the best 5 years there I could ever ask for.

Being an Ole Miss fan sucks so bad though, and I'm addicted to it like a heroin junkie. I wish I could quit it.

Nah. Because when it's good it's absolutely worth it.

I've been lucky to come from such a large media market that I have always been able to count on one of my teams being good. Even if one fails and it hurts, I can generally be able to look to a different team to help out

As an A&M alum, there's not a possibility of me becoming a genuine fan of another team. But yeah, I feel at times it's not good for me to follow our football team.

I've got family who are ex Cowboys and have been a fan since a child, so there's no chance I'll ever change allegiance. This year is nice to watch, though I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

As a Liverpool fan, last year was really, really tough; we were so close. this year, I am waiting for football season to be over before getting into the EPL. I don't have the emotional fortitude to watch the Aggies, Reds, and Cowboys lose in the same weekend.

In short, yeah, I'd say it is worth it.

I was at Bama during the last of Dubose's reign of inteptness through most of Shula's years. I felt like killing myself every Saturday night. Once I sat through a loss to Northern Illinois and almost stabbed myself in the eye midway through the 4th quarter.

Then an old timer shared a bottle of Beam with me after the game and I told him how much being a fan sucked. He advised me to check my priorities and even questioned why I would be a fan if it made me miserable.

I walked back to my shitty one bedroom apt off of 13th st. throughly drunk. I woke up the next morning and decided that from now on I'd view it more as entertainment than something I lived and died with. It's been a great decision. It still sucks when we lose, but I don't get depressed since I'm not on the team, didn't coach the team and basically just bought a ticket to watch...if even that since I mainly watch on TV.

Have you met a Kentucky football fan? Few have suffered the way a UKLSFF (UK long suffering football fan).

Oh, and on top of that I am a Bengals fan from the 80's (so subtract most of the last 3 decades). It's been brutal.

OP is a Mississippi State fan, I think he has an idea of your pain

Unless you're a HS underclassman then at least your team won a NC in your life. He would have to be damn near 75 to even have been alive for MSU winning an SEC championship.

I think it's harder to go from great to cellar dweller than it is to be a perpetual shite show.

If it bothers you to the extent that you ask yourself these questions then you might be too invested in sports.

I was upset when LSU lost to Notre Dame for like an hour but then I went on with my life and focused on things that actually impact my life and I have an influence over.
