I only give to the Austin homeless when they fight each other for street corners. Otherwise they can kiss my balls, provide some entertainment for my money dammit.

I have to live my business life by deadlines. My time is dominated by them and the needs of my customers.

In my personal life, I've never been the most punctual person, and was recently married to someone who thought my being 5 minutes late to wherever was Exhibit A to my being disrespectful to her. It made her come unhinged. Complete and utter Stage 5 meltdown unhinged, on occasion. (Marriage is now over.)

Since then, I've come to the conclusion that in my personal life, unless my being somewhere at a certain time is going to affect a group function, I just don't give a shite about time deadlines and other people's time anymore. After 5, or whenever I leave work, and on weekends, my time is my time, and the rest of the world can frick off.
