I could make a good one, even on those automatic machines. You're limited on the quality of the shot coming out, but one can make it consumable by vigilantly watching shot pull times.
The art at the Starbucks is getting the milk just right. Those wands are a little too powerful but once you get it right, I could pull milk good enough to do simple designs in the foam.

I once worked in a kcal cafe where we made our own coffee drinks. The shots weren't automatic and neither was the milk/flavors. It's still easy AF and not as good as brewed coffee

I don't like milk in my coffee period.
That being said, it's pretty easy to make something good when you have complete control. It's harder on those machines trying for a uniform product that sacrifices taste to idiot proof the process.

Those Amaretto ones are my weakness. I never buy it at the store, but if I stop at a convenience store for a cup of coffee and see them, I can't stop myself. The gas station by my office has Community coffee and those amaretto cups.

I get that. I actually think all those other flavored creamers are disgusting, but something about that Amaretto. The irony is I first used it late one night driving home from a trip and the gas station I stopped at had horrible coffee. Needed something to mask the coffee taste.

I really enjoyed the coffee at Cafe Du Monde. Some of the best I've ever had. Seems there was a F&D thread on it a while back.

As an aside, my friend and I would play a game when we went to Christian events when we were teens. It was called "gay or Baptist." Some say I've matured. But only some.

Trader Joes selection of coffee is really good. I have been buying the beans and grinding them in the mornings.
