We gassed children to death in Texas 20 yrs ago

That one's new to me, even as a questioner of everything to do with the government. What was the event that caused children to be gassed in Texas in my lifetime?

Waco. U.S. law enforcement pumped CS gas for nearly 6 hours into the compound, with children knowingly subjected to it. Autopsies showed that some had snapped spinal cords resulting in their deaths from the extreme muscle contractions that the gas caused upon inhalation.

I dated a girl in college whose parents emigrated to USA from Syria. Probably best it didn't last b/c we had much different views on USA policy in the middle east.

Yeah, I'm always lost on the internal US stuff when I'm trying to believe the other conspiracies that are much more involved and dark than the domestic stuff.

I can see why the government would go after Syria, I have no clue why they'd go after The Branch Davidian with the same force.

I can't though.

NEW YORK, June 25, 2013 — The Free Syrian Army (FSA), which received nonlethal US support in the past, may soon get American arms to help oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from office.

Syrian Rebels Tied to Al Qaeda Play Key Role in War
The group is a direct offshoot of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Iraqi officials and former Iraqi insurgents say, which has contributed veteran fighters and weapons.

“This is just a simple way of returning the favor to our Syrian brothers that fought with us on the lands of Iraq,” said a veteran of Al Qaeda in Iraq, who said he helped lead the Nusra Front’s efforts in Syria.

The New York Times

CIA and U.S. military operatives have been secretly teaching Syrian rebels how to use anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns, the Los Angeles Times has learned. The White House refuses to confirm but says 'substantial assistance' is being provided.

I'm sorry dude, I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy. However, I'm well beyond the point of distrusting the media enough to allow an international incident to be refuted by Washington Times, NY Times, and LA Times stories.

Understandable. I think the administration has shown they are every bit as untrustworthy, if not moreso, with all the scandals and violation of Constitutional Rights though. Those were just recognizable news outlets that carried those stories. There were quite a few others, some from overseas, such as BBC, Guardian, Debka, Pravda, Al Jazeera that carried similar stories.

Almost forgot this:

quote:

Syrian rebels used Sarin nerve gas, not Assad’s regime: U.N. official

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent

Ummm

I created a controversial thread, and your response was laughter.

I guess I'm just supposed to know that you weren't taking the topic seriously and just messing with me, instead of laughing at me for posting and backing a controversial topic.

You're so sly...
