Glad you're back.
You can't just alley-oop it up there like that and not expect me to slam it down

Does it take courage for me to be openly conservative on Reddit?
I don't see the similarities

Voicing a conservative opinion in some areas of the internet can lead to death threats, electronic harassment, doxxing, and other forms of oppression.

I'm sure it can. I still don't see the similarities in what Sam did last spring and being conservative on an anonymous website.

So basically, it's an award for biggest attention whore

Just think of the name on the award or previous award winners like Muhammad Ali. Now we are giving it to Michael Sam and Bruce Jenner. What the actual frick.
I get where you're coming from but Ali was one of the biggest attention whores of ALL TIME

First openly gay NFL player/draftee. That would take some courage, knowing that you will be judged by that partially.
My opinion ALL ALONG has been that MS came out because he was pretty confident he wouldn't get drafted or a very late round at best so he came out to blame someone for his shortcomings....too slow for LB and too small for DE.

I don't understand why ESPN feels the need to cater to individuals and issue that make up a tiny portion of their viewer base. It seems counterproductive.

No, its awful. There are thousands of stories of true courage in sports. This is a slap in the face to them by not only lumping this into the category of "courage," but also celebrating it.
Disgusting move by ESPN.

I think it's pretty courageous what she did.

But it probably adds $$ to the bottom line so it will continue.

I don't see where it has anything to do with sports, which defeats the purpose of the award. But I really don't watch the ESPYs anymore so to each his own.

Jenner used to be an athlete. And penis tucking should be a sport.

And it should've been awarded posthumously to Lauren Hill.

Only reason I tuned in lat year was to see what they would say about the Spurs.
One of their awards didn't even get shown live, but they made sure to show every second of the michael sam stuff
I was mad.
