I prefer a good brick oven pizza to either. If it's strictly between those two, I go Chicago.

Thin soft crust New York pizza is the best, but Chicago hits the spot every now and then. Chicago is a changeof pace pie.

I like both but prefer NY. Chicago is so filling and a huge meal. No better drunk meal than getting some slices from some walk up counter in Manhattan at 2 AM

Stay away from Lou Malnatis in my opinion. The first time I went there's, loved it. And every time I've been back since, I can't get past the crust. They use butter crust instead of flour which is just not good imho. Which sucks because i live a block away from the nicest one around.
