Animals is an acquired taste. It's certainly not one I would recommend for people jsut getting into floyd. But as I've gotten older I appreciate it much more. Also really dig how the album parallels Animal Farm.

Which would you go with? Btw I'm not arguing at all, I love talking about the subject matter obviously ha.
Us and them is my favorite from that album and I just love Great Gig in the sky. That chick didnt say a thing but gives me goose bumps everytime I hear it.
I guess I just heard Dark side so much when I was in high school. Wish you were here is my fav. I can listen to Shine on all day.
I got tickets to see Brit Floyd in the Fox in June. If you have never heard them, they are excellent. They have a liverpool concert on Youtube that is worth the listen. Very talented and probably the closest we will ever get again..

I still think Misty Mountain Hop was their best song. Even though it was never on a original album.

Okay, time to inject some Motown into this thread. I give you:
"Papa was a Rollin Stone" - The Temptations
I also like, on the other side of the spectrum, David Alan Coe's "You Never Even Call Me By My Name"

My favorite song or best song ever. If best song ever, I'd have to go with something like Amazing Grace. Transcends time.

I see no mention of the Beatles.
I don't know about best ever but I have always loved
Hey Jude
These are all just my personal taste but
Otis Redding- sitting on the dock of the bay
CCR- Fortunate Son
and a personal favorite that will probably never make any classic list would have to be
Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel kamakawiwo'ole....its just a beautiful song.

If you asked me this when I was in 10th grade I probably would have voted for that but radio plays it once every oooooooooh 2 hours so I can't even listen to it anymore. That's not aerosmith's fault, but still.
