Cohiba

Not sure that I would recommend an expensive cigar like Cohiba to someone new at smoking cigars. I'd recommend finding a few different ones in the $5 to $7 range and try a few different ones to see which ones you like. This way if you screw up one of your cigars it's maybe a $7 mistake instead of a $20 to $30 mistake. I would probably recommend a robusto size cigar and something in the mild to medium strength range.

Edit: Some brands I like are H. Upmann, Oliva, Alec Bradley, Romeo y Julietta, and Comacho.

X2

You will likely find at least one in that price range you prefer to the more expensive makes anyway.

Try Cigar Monster for a few sampler pacs. most any Partagus, Perdomo, or R&J sampler will be a good place to start. I live on the auction side of the site. lol

I would begin with a Connecticut shade wrapper and just go darker from there if you wish. JMHO

I'm a big fan of Cohibas. I don't smoke cigars often at all, but when I do it's generally a Cohiba

Houseofcigar

This place in Costa Rica....best cigars I have ever smoked. Their website just recently reopened now that Cuban cigars are able to be imported. When I visited the store, there were older ladies rolling, one spoke English and one didn't. They gave me four cigars to test. I went back the next day and purchased six boxes that were rolled. The cigars were about $4.00 a piece and I see Robusto prices are still around this price. I was told by people in the Quepos area the tobacco is really Cuban tobacco and after smoking the cigars, I believed it.

I like Itsaboys. They're usually in a blue wrapper.

Thank you.

Wonder is mail order is a possibility?

Cuban tobacco rolled into non Cuban cigars, as far as where manufactured, is interesting, too.

Hey, this is where I parked my car.

It's been too damn hot to smoke lately, but I did get a few in last month.

Also, in a couple of months, I will have a screened in back porch with a ceiling fan / propane heater with which to enjoy this pastime. I can't wait.

My favorites lately have been Undercrown, Padron 3000 Maduro, and Perdomo 10 yr Anniversary Champagne.
