And if you come to Memphis downtown is ok, but Cooper and Young street in midtown is ten times better.
Young avenue deli
Barber shop
Next door
Alchemy
Celtic
Not BBQ places, but you won't be disappointed.

You sound like a collierville person who just discovered midtown on google maps.
Deli- decent food. Worst service in America.
Barber Shop is actually called the beauty shop and it is very good.
Next door- my favorite bar. Regular menu food sucks. You have to hope they have a specials menu.
Alchemy- sucks compared to when it opened and is still crazy overpriced

I could, but I'm too busy rubbing their BBQ sauce on my thighs and in my hair.
It is fricking delicious stuff.

Slope, lately you seem to take every opportunity to be an arse when I post. if you have a problem. Speak up, mother fricker.

Because you constantly talk shite about MSU and your previous post was comical.
You dig?

Slope is menopausal. You'll have to forgive him.

How old is alchemy? Have not lived in Memphis for a couple of years. Agree on the rest...celtic is not a place to go for food.

A year or so. Every time I find something I like, they change the menu so that pisses me off. It used to be a 2 hr wait on the weekends, but I guess the newness has worn off. The kitchen doesn't close until 1 though so that's pretty neat.

I talk shite about every team. I call Ole Miss runts, I rip on FL with road, and just ask Bucc if I ever talk shite about bama. I'm an equal opportunity a-hole. State is just always making it easy. I don't feel the need to justify that, and there is clearly more, but whatever.
As for your post about my post, that's your opinion. All I'm going to say.
I don't go to the Celtic for food. I love their Irish car bombs.

Who knew that BBQ could cause so much hate.
Posted on 6/18/13 at 11:17 pm to CatFan81
BBQ is really more a lover.
It's about putting your goodness in someone else's mouth. Sounds like love to me.

And I thought your opinion was dumb so I corrected it. It's not like I told you to frick yourself.

Parker's Barbecue in Wilson, NC.
Vinegar-based is where it's at.

Truly good BBQ doesn't require sauce. If you want sauce of truly good BBQ... just a tiny bit of Kansas City Style.

I know the Memphis scene fairly well.
Rendezvous--massively overrated. Skip it.
The BBQ Shop--Meh. Some swear by their pulled pork sandwich, but it's always seemed average to me. Might as well be Tops.
Central BBQ--usually a solid choice, if you're in MidTown. There are, IMO, better joints out there, though.
Cozy Corner--Hole in the wall on North Pkwy. Don't be frightened by the sketchy exterior, the food is solid. Specialty is a barbecued cornish hen. 2nd best in Memphis, IMO.
Germantown Commissary--Worth the ~25 min. drive from downtown. Has a much more diverse menu than Central and dare I say, superior BBQ. If you can only visit one BBQ spot, go here.

For all those in the Memphis area who have not tried the ribs from Blues City Cafe on the corner of Beale, you should. They are my absolute favorite. The only time I go to Rendezvous is when someone from out of town insists.
And as others have said Commissary, Memphis BBQ, and Central are all good.

Franklin BBQ (Austin, TX)
In Alabama I would go with Archibald's.
